Reagarding the cancellation of USLME centre from Nepal. - 08-11-2005, 07:32 AM

Dear all,

As we were having a gathering regarding the cancellation of USMLE center from Nepal. Latest we know that some of our frens who were taking their exams this week are flying to Karachi for their exams. We have been trying our best to resume our center here in Nepal which sounds almost impossible now.
I have send following mail to ECFMG,NBME,FSMB.
I am looking forward for their reply and I will let all you know if they say anything new.

Mail is:
This mail is a query regarding your decision to cancel the test center which was present in Nepal.
There were around 40 graduates from Nepal who had already confirmed their dates with prometric along with the confirmation number prometric provides us after the selection of the test date. Few of us were having exams this week only. The test center which was present in Kathmandu was accessible for all of us and was within 40 mins distance on average for all the test taking graduates. We all are surprised with the decision of NBME/ECFMG without prior notice to any of the graduates regarding the cancellation aspect.
Now as we don’t have any center in Nepal we have to travel for the exam for either to Bangladesh, Pakistan for the exam which will definitely cost for the VISA, traveling, accommodation, food and other things.
I don’t know weather the decision has been made with all these things in mind or not but this decision is adding unexpected burden and cost for the graduates.
I would like to request the authority to resume the test center for the graduates who have confirmed their dates with the prometric if possible if not I would like to request to adjust us for Delhi test center which is of course the nearest and accessible for all of us.

Hoping for your positive reply. Thank you…

Yours sincerely

Dr. Shiva Shrotriya.

Please, Share if anything new happens………..Thank you.
