circumstances forced me to migrate to USA. I was a very sucessful ophthalmologist in India for last 25 years.
After coming to US, I could not find suitable place for me in my professional field and was made to realise again & again that without USMLE clearance, I do not have any future in US. I was also informed by all my doctor friends in US that it would be next to impossible for me to clear USMLE because of my age and the fact that I have spent all my professional career in ophthalmology which has very little to do with general medical practice.
I took my chances and appeared for USMLE part I in August 2007. To my surprise, I not only passed USMLE part I but also scored very good marks.
Now I am preparing for USMLE part II and would appear in exam in December 2007. Once I clear my part II CK, I will prepare for Part II CS in May-June 2008.
I would like to know from fellow members of this forum, how should I proceed after clearing my USMLE part II CS & CK.
Dear kirtishah,
I am not a USMLE examinee and have no much informations about it but as yousay, you have passed your first step with a very good marks and are about to appear Step II, so now that you have already taken the step, don't hesitate. Keep going ahead with full determination and confidence. Hesitating can only be your weak point.
I wish Good Luck.
At least you dared to take this big step and did good. That's the bigger thing. I couldn't dare to. So, don't step back now. Keep going. Good luck my friend.
