Good news, The states are sucking all the human resources of poor countries. If this keeps on going, poor countries will stay always poor.

its obviously not a good news to all those who are taking the USMLE. But what is really disheartening is that it seems like most med students in nepal mostly care to go the US. [ i take care to exclude those who are clearly interested in serving nepal]. life, liberty and pursuit of happiness is what the US promises. It sure is great. But who will take care of the country? Sure, a country with the biggest flaws and the most obsolete government and health care system. Was this always your motive - to get a medical degree and go to US/UK? | | The Following User Says Thank You to azureskye33 For This Useful Post: | | | Co-Admin | | Posts: 875 Thanks: 0

Exactly Azu, that is the question that one should ask itself, prior to migrating to their dreamland. I have nothing "much" against the examinees, but the US policy and of course our government. The US being Superior of all is really in wrong track. Pls excuse me but I want to say that the US is creator of poverty in the world. They know it very well that they are jerking the fundamental of developing countries, but they pretend to be blind in this case, they only see that they need most capable ppl, despite of knowing that loss of such powers means a lot for poor countries. They only show as if they are doing a lot for global betterment -but they actually don't do-. They should ask poor ppl what could they do with 500 Billions $$$, which is military budget of the states. Hah, leave it, there are lot of such things.
Neither our gov is going to do anything against such outflow of its Ace. We ourselves must create the fundamental fundamental for our country, instead of relying on our 'de facto handicapped government'. | | The Following User Says Thank You to Rajiv For This Useful Post: | | | Member | | Posts: 90 Thanks: 0

hi guys,specially medicus and japanese,
I dont know where u guys are but i bet u are certainly not in nepal.Coz u dont seem to know the ground realities here.As i said earlier refrain from being too judgemental from oceans away before knowing whats really happening here.
Do you think only you have brain and eyes and only u love nepal and everyone else is a freak!!
There are 1000+ doctors being produced in nepal evey year and there are no new job creations. And there are less than 100 seats for PG.What do you think doctors here should do?
ARTI DINA SAJILO HUNCHA BROTHER TARA AAFULAI PAREPACHI THAHA HUNCHA.
Where to go then?
US is obviously the best choice by far because it has a system well set in its medical mechinary to allow foreign graduates.Which is non existent in anyother country in the world.Talk about germany and france and japan and all those other rich countries. They dont have a set system like US to allow foreign graduates,we have to learn their language and the most imp.thing is US is much more tolerant as a country and of course the financial incentive is great.
Some one said if US doesnt want us and all that. What silly crap is that.US closed its centre because we cheated. If you give USMLE u will know that u cannot reproduce the questions after giving the exam but we did in nepal and we are paying the price.U cannot blame ECFMG for that and nepal is not the first country to be penalised this way.
Its not like US is sucking our resource and all that. Its us who decide to get the best possible knowledge in the world. They dont ask you to stay after u finish ur PG they actually want you to go,its upon you to decide.
Finally, nepal ma kaam napayera, padhna napayera basnuparcha vanne chaina.Biswoko jun kuna ma basera pani nepal lai maya garna sakincha ra nepal ko lagi ke hi garna sakincha.Aafunai langado cha bhane usle desh lai ke sahara dine.Aafu pahila manche bannu paryo, best of education paaunu paryo. Then u can always come back to do the best for your motherland. | | Senior Member | | Posts: 108 Thanks: 0

A ground reality is that an AVERAGE nepali can't afford for USMLE...By citing your statistics and spices of financial incentives after entering the USA,don't you think that you are teasing all the Nepali Medical Graduates who can't afford USMLE financial stuffs. ...I am not against going USA or other countries for future career..Just my opinion is that having center is not our right it is their mercy. For me the agitations that were carried out by visa rejected DV-lottery winners and appeal for USMLE center in Kathamandu are more or less similar. Moreover,What do you think about putting both dark and bright sides of the things? There are lot of friends of mine in USA,waiting a matching after their USMLE and getting frustated too...Probably you might have been informed that there are still few medical graduates in nepal who after completing their USMLE 1 and 2 got rejected when applied for VISA....Lot of things are there...and Be advised that USA is not the end of the world. | | xenoMED Advisor | | Posts: 628 Thanks: 2
