New Progress Regarding USMLE. - 13-11-2005, 06:50 AM

I would like to notify those who have already sent their form to ECFMG and who are on the way to fill up the form. Some of our frens who have already filled up the form had send fax to ECFMG regarding the closing of the Prometric Center, they too wrote about the inconvinence regarding the center in Dhaka and Karachi. They were ready to shift the center to India for those who corresponded them. So I would like to request all those who are filling their form to send the inconvinience notice along with the form so that they will send the appropriate scheduling permit for India. Keep in Mind the scheduling no for India and rest of the other south Asian countries are different.

Those who already filled their form and want to shift their center in India please send a fax to ECFMG so that they will send a new permit for you.

I would like to help those who have difficulties with the procedure mentioned up. Thank you..

Shiva.

Hello Dr. Shiva,

Thats a great news, I also heard that the center is permanently closed for Nepal.

Therefore, those who are interested for the USMLE has to go to other countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan etc. Currently India is not permitted, although new infomation regarding India has just updated by Dr. Saab thats a very encouraging news indeed.

Thanks a lot Dr. Shiva for sharing this information with us.

USMLE: New Progress - 13-11-2005, 08:44 AM

Hello All,

Seems like there was a confusion regarding my previous msg. Sorry for that.

First thing is, have you filled up the form or not?

If you had, Only you have to do is drop a fax to ECFMG with all the inconviniences you are having with the withdral of nepal's center. So the best destination for you will be India, as you are in a superior position regarding their fault of not giving any of the candidates prior notification regarding the cancellation of exams, what you can do is that you can request for an extension till feb coz of the waste of days regarding the withdrawl of test center. Be sure few guys did that with fax alone and without the extension fee.

If you are in the process of sending a form simply write a application along with the form requesting for a scheduling no valid for India.

P.S: The scheduling no for Nepal and other south east asian countries is different from that of India.

Thank you...

But Guys,

Your form will be re-evaluated something like you have just submitted the form, I mean when you send such request and if you see your ECFMG record it will show that your form has just received.

So, obviously its not suitable for those who are planning to take exams soon.

If you have plenty of time go for the above option.

Best Luck

Angel

Dear Friends,
Here is the way how you can approach ECFMG to make your exam center in India
  1. Dial ECFMG at TEL: (215) 386-5900 (Telephone assistance is available between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Eastern Time, Monday through Friday.)
  2. Inform about the inconvenience in Nepal and other Asian Testing Center like Bangaldesh, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand compare to India (Basically your motivating to the ECFMG representative that India is far suitable for you)
  3. They will request you an application for this which you can send through Fax.
  4. They will change your OASIS status which you have to check daily probably you have to wait for another Orange/Arrange Card.
Best suggestion: If you have more time go for it or else please go to Bangladesh.

Bes of Luck

hey friends,
if you send the form and the sheduling permit via fax, how long will it take for ECFMG to send the confiramtion. is it the same time and delay as the orginal orange card.
or they will do it immediately.
will the centre in Nepal will be back in future, or do we have to suffer all the exams.

thanks for the update.

I think it will work as if you have just submitted your form.. few have done they are getting their OSASIS info as if they have just applied, so don't know until their update comes I can say that it could take more than we expect.
