HIV status in Nepal till 2005: Total Adult=70000, Adult Prevalence (15-49)=0.55%, Number of Women (15-49) LWHA=15,310 (22%), HIV Prevalence rate in IDUs=32.7%, HIV prevalence rate in sex worker=3.8%, HIV prevalence rate in client of SW=2.1%. The latest U.N. report shows that 65 million people have been infected with HIV since it was first identified 25 years ago. Twenty five million people have died of AIDS.

It is very sad to say this thing that >100 Nepalese doctor who went to USA for USMLE are returning homes empty hand.

There is no official documentation but it is estimated that >200 were for the matching this year. Some people say that those who get residency is only 30-40%

Its just an rough estimation. This information is to show that USMLE is not as eassy as you think. Its getting very tough day by day.

I congratulate for those who matched this year in March 13, 2006 and wish my best of luck for next year for those who couldn't make this year.
