Dear Mr Cool,

This is not a silly question everyone start from your position I did the same so don't feel awkward.

Ok, you can give USMLE I as soon you finish your basic science than UMSLE II after your clinical but you can also give before your internship.

Yh, USMLE center from Nepal has been lifted up for undefinite time.

Best of luck

nirnam,

You can use this concept map from this link http://www.xenomed.com/forums/usmle/2557-usmle-map.html

N.B. USMLE Center in Nepal has resumed its job from June, 2006.

I have a similar very basic question...How practical is it to give ur step I immediately after ur basic science, is there any advantage? Won't it be very difficult to manage one's time coz u've said u need 8-10 months of preparation time...or is it better/easier to give the exams after graduating??

USMLE right after the basic science is really a tough decision because most of the questions are clinically orianted but from basic sciences... if you are studying in any of the asian countries... you will have a very very tough time.

Best things is to give USMLE after your graduation, its just my opinion but if you are really very good, intelligent and can study USMLE books side by side with your course book than succss is your... your medical college syllabus is not enough to pass USMLE, you need to study USMLE review books.

If you are interested to go for USMLE, get the USMLE books and start your preparation and then you can give right after your graduation... even during internship you can give.

I said its my independent opinion with the best of my knowledge... rest it depends up on you..... there are USMLE type questions in the xenoMED try to answer them if you can answer them all think that you have the potential.

All the best.
