A score that measures the proteomic profile of amniotic fluid may predict inflammation before delivery. Researchers from Yale University assess whether scores set on protein markers closely associated with inflammation in the amniotic fluid -- the "Mass Restricted" (MR) score -- are associated with the outcome of pregnancy; the presence of infection in the placenta, and severe infection in the newborn baby.
