Staff who took part in a specially designed online infection control course -- in addition to receiving on-the-job training -- said their skills improved by a fifth and led to a number of suggestions and improvements being adopted by their hospital. Infection control is a major issue for health care professionals amid rising MRSA and C.difficile rates and the threat of a possible pandemic at some point in the future.
