HIV status in Nepal till 2005: Total Adult=70000, Adult Prevalence (15-49)=0.55%, Number of Women (15-49) LWHA=15,310 (22%), HIV Prevalence rate in IDUs=32.7%, HIV prevalence rate in sex worker=3.8%, HIV prevalence rate in client of SW=2.1%. The latest U.N. report shows that 65 million people have been infected with HIV since it was first identified 25 years ago. Twenty five million people have died of AIDS.

Appropriate Timing In The Use Of Breast Shields In Children Can Further Reduce MDCT R - 12-02-2008, 02:01 PM

Using breast shields during pediatric chest MDCT reduces radiation dose and minimally increases image noise, according to a recent study. The study showed that the bismuth breast shield reduced radiation dose to the breast by 26% and shielding and ATCM reduced the dose by 52%. The study also showed that multiple organ doses were lowest when the shield was placed after the scout radiograph was obtained. With this technique, image noise increased, but the images were still of good quality.
