It feels so good to report now that the program went exceptionally well. The first thing that i am proud of is that we started the program right at 4 pm not a single minute late. So, i guess it has set an impression among our audience and participants that we are very punctual and i guess it would be a great lesson besides every thing else they learnt that day.
Second, we had overwhelming participation, we had almost 60 participants not including our volunteers and students. That means this PHEP is getting more popular among the public. At one time, looking at the non - stop arrival of participants, we even thought "What are we gonna do if we have no more seats?" Thank god, that condition didn't come up. Anyway, the hall was full and we hardly had any seats left unoccupied. And i think from next program onward, we have to fix the number of participants before hand, so that we wont have much problem managing chairs or seats.
The third thing is the presentation. Dr karki was so good that i guess every participant now wont have any confusion about diabetes and they can take care of themselves to a great extent without having to see a doctor. I vow to Dr Karki for starting this program, this is a very noble work and this definitely has worked wonders for everyone. This surely is much more beneficial than seeing a doctor at his OPD because this was a whole one and half hour with the doctor and one gets to know about other peoples problems and queries besides his one. Everyone seemed satisfied and I have not seen a single person comment about this program.
We have collected all the suggestions and queries of the participants and have assigned pratikshya to get them typed. We hope we get to see that soon at xenomed.
So, the bottom line is the program was superb. I thank all the volunteers for making this program well organised and a huge success. And we hope to see much more organised work in future. Dr. Suvash Shrestha, Intern

ya,no doubt the programme was really excellent and worthy to be a part of it. I not only enjoyed the programme but also learned a lot from it. I, especially, learned how the common people will ask us in near future. to say precisely,I learned what are the practical questions we are going to face as a doctor in our daily lives from the patient. Next, I noted some of the things that should be improved in next PHEP programme,(these are only suggestions that may or may not be implemented) 1. The power point presentation should be in Nepali, so that everybody will understand it while presenting to them. In the first PHEP programme we presented in Nepali and this time in English and I found the presentation quite effective in Nepali rather than in English. I noted the same view from many participants. 2. I think, we should provide each of the particpants a sheet of paper and a pen so that they could write, whatever they think important, in their paper. If we cant provide pen at least we should provide them a sheet of paper. 3. Animated things should be placed, in the presentation, as many as possible. In fact, they make the presentation more interesting, understanding so that the attention of participant will be more easily drawn. 4. We should note and include the SOCIAL TABOOS, MISBELIEF, TRADITIONAL BUT SCIENTIFIC BELIEF reagarding the disease we are talking about, in the presentation. For example: when we are talking about Diarrhoea, their is misbelief of not taking proper nutritious diet, water as they say " jhada lai raachha-khana pachauna garho hunchha tyai bhayera jaulo matrai khane aru nakhane,.........pani gairachha bhane pachhi pani khanu hudaina......"like that there are many...... next example,in case of diabetes: it is beleived in society that taking too much sugar causes diabetes...........which is not true.... numerous such examples can be found in our society which should be cleared up in the presentation. It will really have a great achievment of the outcome of the programme. 5. As we announced the detail about the programme can be found in www.xenomed.com, the detail about the programme including the summary of the programme, sugestions collected, and the questions along with answer that were asked in that programme should be kept in the site as soon as possible. If possible some pictures of the programme should also be kept. Thanks a lot to all whose effort has made this programme a great success. I hope for more suggestions so that we can tune the programme finer and finer and participant friendly. ki kaso?? छेऊमा पाए घचेट्ने कुनोमा पाए अँचेट्ने कहिल्यै नगर्नू | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
