I too think its a good idea and great decision by NMC. Its a good oppurtunity for the students also as they will get to learn more and see the condition of our country outside kathmandu.

I think it is good that the fresh graduates have some experience and practice working in the rural areas before applying for some PG courses or USMLE. But the government should ensure proper facilites to the Doctors there. All the best............

Its a step for the good of the country and people but the doctors too should be given better facilities. Its not that they are work all day and night in the remote places and just get nothing but some working practice and self satisfaction. Facilities and good salary should also be provided to encourage the doctors.

Are U sure intelligent guys stay home with this?

If I pass my NMLE and get temporary registration then the next thing I plan to do instead of doing this service is start preparing for USMLE. One year- two year is more than enough. Then, instead of permanent reg in NMC, I would rather go to US. US wont ask for permanent registration , will they?

So, the intelligent guys go out and those who stay back are fools.

ok walrus ur view is that the fools will land here.i m dam sure that there r plenty of junior dr whpo will b willing for services for the most needy people but thing is little complicated.
the rule seems great but just trying 2 apply yhe very old rule doesnt make sense to many.first of all r the students from ministry r only the scholarship holders?also 2 yrs work at village who will ensure our future?how much time &sacrifice to facilities do we have to do?
If such question remained unsatisfactorily explaineed lets see who the drs really follow the idiot(?)rule.
but USMLE may not b the only options for us.we can ask for facilities &prioritisation.
