Satellite Program

COMMUNITY SATELLITE HEALTH CENTRE

NMC has started a Community Satellite Health Centre at Jhaukhel V.D.C. of Bhaktapur on and runs an OPD twice a week. The Centre is under the Community Medicine Department which in association with the other departments provides health services to the community and runs community diagnosis program for second year medical students.

In addition Health Clinics on weekly basis are run at Mulpani VDC, Sankhu VDC, and Kirtipur etc.

thats a really good inititive both for the community nd the students.

our college doesnt have such satellite centres but it collaborates with organisations such as the family planning association, world vision international etc. it provides doctors nd nurses for their programmes.

in fact medical colleges can do a lot for the community nd these cud be small steps towards socoal contribution.

i hope the initiative from nmc gets continuity nd growth
best wishes

hi,
I agree with u bisurath, why doesnt MCOMS have any satellite projects? When we were students we raised that issue and the management just said we want you guys to be safe and all that, most medical colleges have it.
BP is probably the best example of it,KMC too has it,i have gone there(bhaktapur) once myself though there is room for improvement, its a good start. But why not MCOMS?? I heard there is a new management now,may be the new dean will listen.I am sure the public opinion will be very favorable if they start one.And ofcourse lots of people will benifit.
