World Hypertension Day - May 13, 2006 - 09-05-2006, 06:15 PM

World Hypertension Day (WHD), scheduled for Saturday, May 13, 2006, is swiftly approaching. We trust that you and your hypertension league are making plans to provide information on the prevention, detection and treatment of hypertension in your country. Please keep a record of your activities and take photos of interesting events. We will post them in the WHL Newsletter and on our WHL website (www.worldhypertensionleague.org).
You may email all photos to the WHL Secretariat Office (gmonhollen@meduohio.edu).

Furthermore, we request that you submit a report describing your activities and, in particular, your league’s programs to "Treat to Goal," and also the methods you will use to maintain compliance with treatment. The WHL Executive Board will review and select the top three reports for a (modest) monetary award and a special certificate. All leagues submitting a report will receive a certificate commemorating their participation in WHD 2006.

Enclosed is some material that you may wish to use for WHD. It consists of a poster and also a brochure that you may reproduce and distribute as you wish.

Last year, WHD was very successful, and we hope that this year will be even more successful. Thank you for participating in this very important event.

Very best wishes.

Sincerely yours,

Claude Lenfant, M.D.
President
World Hypertension League
