Trilateral work initiated to build Rapti Hospital - 19-10-2006, 10:05 PM

DANG, Oct 15: A trilateral attempt has been initiated between the locals of Deukuri Lamahi, Gorahi and Tulsipur for the establishment of Rapti Zonal Hospital.

Keshab Acharya of Nepali Congress said that the locals in Dang, Tulsipur have taken the initiative of establishing a hospital after the government announced to build the Zonal Hospital in Daulagiri, Rapti and Karnali zone to make health services accessible to the poor.

Likewise, District Development Committee of Salyan, Rukum, Rolpa and Pyuthan have send the recommendation that the hospital should be established in the Lamahi zone, said Reshami Raj Sharma Kangali, Coordinator of the hospital.

The Rapti Zonal Hospital will be connected with the Mahendra Highway, therefore the Ministry for Health and Population has endorsed for the establishment of the hospital, while the seven political parties, more than 50 organisations and 11 VDCs have forged a consensus to establish the hospital at Lamahi.

Coordinator of the Struggle Committee Shankher Prasad Acharya has forwarded a memorandum to Prime Minister and Ministry for Health through the district administration office of Tuslipur after forming a task force represented by all the parties.

Locals of Tuslipur had staged a sit-in opposite Urban Development and Building Construction Division for four hours Friday.

Member of Nepali Congress Dang, Madhav K.C. said seven political parties of Tulsipur and Lamahi are actively involved for the establishment of the hospital in their own area after the health office of Dang allocated a budget of Rs 5.00,000 and the outer elevation of the hospital was made public.

Publicity Department of CPN-UML in Dang said that the entire infrastructure for the building of hospital has been completed and the district has also permitted to build the hospital in Lamahi, therefore the hospital should be made at Lamahi.
