‘Hooligans’ attack docs in Bharatpur - 26-04-2007, 12:05 AM

Hooligans attacked two doctors of the College of Medical Sciences, Bharatpur, last night. Orthopaedic specialist Dr Amit Hadora and ophthalmologist Dr Manoj Yadav were injured in the attack.
Dr Hadora had to get five stitches in his head and four stitches in his ankle while Dr Yadav sustained serious injuries in his left hand.
The doctors of the hospital halted OPD services briefly today to protest the attack on the two doctors. Medical professionals of the hospital led by the director of the college Dr Natraj Prasad went to the District Administration Office and District Police Office, demanding that the administration punish the culprits.
The hospital administration also organised a press conference to inform mediapersons and representatives of political parties of the incident.
Dr Hadora and Dr Yadav said they were attacked by 25 men armed with iron rods and batons as they were returning to their quarters outside the hospital premises around midnight. - The Himalayan Times
