New cases in Pous 2064, HIV = 175, AIDS = 26, Death = 2. HIV rate is very high in Housewives than sex workers in Nepal ! ! ! HIV status in Nepal till 2005: Total Adult=70000, Adult Prevalence (15-49)=0.55%, Number of Women (15-49) LWHA=15,310 (22%), HIV Prevalence rate in IDUs=32.7%, HIV prevalence rate in sex worker=3.8%, HIV prevalence rate in client of SW=2.1%. The latest U.N. report shows that 65 million people have been infected with HIV since it was first identified 25 years ago. Twenty five million people have died of AIDS.

Welcome to the Nepal AIDS Forum.

Nepal AIDS Forum (NAF) has been started to bring out the issues pertaining to HIV/AIDS & STD/STI in Nepal.

This forum will be supported by the doctors and medical students to provide the authentic medical knowledge regarding HIV/AIDS & STD/STI and health education to the general people.

Any querries pertaining to this issues will be answered by the experts. NAF will also serve to provide global links about HIV/AIDS.

This forum will be useful to all the doctors, medical students, Journalist and HIV +ve individuals and will also advocate HIV/AIDS issues in Nepal. NAF will also work with the adovacy organizations, individuals and institutes pertaining to HIV/AIDS & STD/STI issues.

Any constructive cricism will be appreciated.

Yes,

This is definitely a very needed and now it is here.
We were covering this issue in an equally important manner in XENOMEDbefore and will continue. The separate forum on the issue will make the discussion better organized, more focussed and will attract many users - I hope. The issue in present context that too in a developing country like Nepal is extremely important though the FORUM is not designed and confined to a particular country, region or continent. The objective is to think globally and work locally. It has been up to the expectations so far.


Hopefully, the forum will be interactive.
