all medical college hav eone thing in common, there are medical students and patients. the patient come with certain hope when he come there, but we student in the name of learning are in way harming them, some are adding to their problem . how much we can do, what advice we can give and how correctly, that depents on individual but that has paramount effect on patients. once i found my friends giving wrong advices to the patients. we examine them but in return what do they get, so next tiem u see the patient in your hospital respect each and every patient no matter how poor he is, your single polite word and examination in comfortable manner can make a lot of differences. | | The Following User Says Thank You to kalyan For This Useful Post: | | | Senior Member | | Posts: 930 Thanks: 37

thats true to some extent that we might be doing more harm to the patients instead of helping them... but i think they get extra care as well... as students approach them more, the patients may have a feelilng of well looked after although the motive of the students might be different.. so the patients donot feel dejected... the other thing is the medical college provides medical services in very reasonable price to the patients... so its all take and give....
and yes, we sould be very nice and polite to our patients! Dr. Suvash Shrestha, Intern

its true that we frequently look after the patient, not in a way to help the patient but to confirm our findings and learn , actually that is the ideal way to learn. but we have to undarstand the sentiment of the patient. many a tiem patient burst into tears in front of u, and how u can counsell at that particular time determines ur relationship with patient. its not only the doctor patient relation it's also the human to human relation. | | The Following User Says Thank You to kalyan For This Useful Post: | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
