King calls on SPA to recommend name for Prime Minister - 21-04-2006, 08:23 AM

KATHMANDU, April 21 - King Gyanendra has called the seven-party alliance to recommend the name of a consensus Prime Minister at the earliest.

Addressing the nation this evening, the king said he has handed executive powers to the people as per Article 35 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Nepal 1990.

In the royal address, the King also said that the current government under his chairmanship would be in place until the formation of the next government headed by the SPA-recommended Prime Minister. [Read More]

main Drawbacks of the King's Speech
1. King never spoke on and about the ongoing People's mass protest.
2. King didn't even talk about the maoist problem and to solve it.
3. Never gave a clear idea about the peace process.
4. King praised the Security forces for their duty despite of the International human right agencies pointing finger on the security action of the country.

and many more....

Kings attempt to abort the poeple's movements - 21-04-2006, 11:11 AM

Today's king's address to the nation is incomplete to the what all people's are demanding to bring complete democracy. This will not solve the present crisis of the country and 11 nepali people's sacrifice was not for this only. This is king's attempt to abort the present movement and devide the unity between seven party alliance .In my opionion even if some of the party's agreed to the king's request , we civil society should preotest that and we should continue the present movement untill comlete democracy obtained. The king should not have any power -the most important is royal nepalese army, the rigth to mobilise and controll it shlould be handed over to people's representative , people should have right to decide thier salary, allowances, area of power, even the fate of monarchy should be decide by the people. In my personal opinon the relevance of monarchy no longer persist after the massacre of late king birendra's family, we dont want the king who want to survive himself by drinking his own people's blood.Todays addresses in the name of country is his trick , it is like throwing bone to dogs and make fight in between themselves. So we all should warn the politicla leadre not to fall in his trick and continue the protest untill comlete democracy obtained. Let us make this people's movement final to get our right and auticracity.

The meeting of the seven-party alliance (SPA) on Saturday flatly rejected King Gyanendra’s offer for premiership.

The SPA also vowed to continue pro-democracy movement.
