New cases in Pous 2064, HIV = 175, AIDS = 26, Death = 2. HIV rate is very high in Housewives than sex workers in Nepal ! ! ! HIV status in Nepal till 2005: Total Adult=70000, Adult Prevalence (15-49)=0.55%, Number of Women (15-49) LWHA=15,310 (22%), HIV Prevalence rate in IDUs=32.7%, HIV prevalence rate in sex worker=3.8%, HIV prevalence rate in client of SW=2.1%. The latest U.N. report shows that 65 million people have been infected with HIV since it was first identified 25 years ago. Twenty five million people have died of AIDS.

yes, doing research can make a medical student more competent, but i really wna know, whether onot there is really enouh time for tht? last time, i joined the histology lab work(jz for fun), but at the end of the day, i ran exhausted... perhaps, i really need to learn frm the experienced! ;P

i guess the time factor depends very much on how the structure of the course and the emphasis the university and the medical council of the country give to research work during undergraduate level.

Here, we have lots of little projects within the course to do in terms of designing researches and how to apply to ethics committee before we start the project, questionnaire design, audits, lots really. And for those who want an academic career or are interested greatly in a particular topic, can take a yr off to do research work.

By the way I am planning to do my intercalated degree in Physiology and Pharmacology from the UCL.

But I bet u wont know who I am at all !!!!
