medicine in ukraine, it's a new experience. the edu sys there is totally different frm malaysia. in a week, v ll ve at least 2 lectures, in whc all the batchmates ll b in the same lecture hall, snoozing away, together... lecturers pay not much attention to us during lectures but when come to classes(tutorials), students ll b penalised... for not paying attention in lectures. in tutorial, my group, only 7 of us, ll b given all the attention by our profs, asking questions n most commonly, in ukr, v ve oral, not written paper. every class, v need to do preparation for the topic n subj given in the previous class. eventhough this may seem tough, but not at all. for foreigners, sad to say, but it's true, teachers r really lenient to us, n grades r given not based on the knowledge v really acquire but on the impression each of the teacher on us. tht's y it depends so much on the students to self-i,prove rather thn, spoon fed by teachers. in my 1st yr, v had come into real corpse while studying splanchnology, all the organs, the anomalities n v came across many variaties in human body, i visited the museum of morpho-corpus every week to study about the differences n to recognise each n every part of human body but i know, i cnt study it all n always ve the tendency to forget once new info ll b absorbed, tht's y repetition is so very important. thn, comes to histology, i dun understand y the emphasize so much on histo as v ve state exams for histo n anat in our 2nd year. i like the slaids reading(coz of the colourful specimen, not othr thn tht), hate facts alot. always mix everythng. thn, 2nd year, physio is my fav, i like bio-chem too, but most of all, is internal medicine. 2nd year, 2nd sem, v ve surgery, real cadavier, but not scary, surgery teacher is mean, esp to girls.

n thr is only 2 girls in my group, me and another indian. i dun really pay much attention as i know i ll b going to bangladesh very soon, tht's y my grades drop alot. shame on me! but i m surprised tht all of us in the group cnt concentrate much on our studies as 80% of the malaysians studying there moved to russia, india, myanmar as months pass. every week, v hear news tht this students, r goin home, to b transferred to another country... as the university i m studying isnt recognised by MMC(malaysia medical council), n my parents recerived letters frm MMC to send me to somewhere recognised by MMC so that i need not sit for the entrance exam once i graduate n directly i can register in m'sia upon graduation, n perform my houseman in m'sia. tht's y nw i m so keen in knowing whether onot i need to perform 1yr intern in bnagladesh as if i have to do so before goin home, thn, i ll waste 1yr more in bangladesh... n frankly speaking, i ve wasted much time

repeating isnt a good thing but since my parents want it tht way, i ve to obey thm, cz for the entrance exam, it's really tough, n it's only done twice a year, with 2005 result, only 20% who sat for it passed, even aftr 6months of training, moreover, students r given letters to transfer to recognised uni by the government!
haha... this is nothing really special but students in ukr, r really enjoying their time n studies r not really tough, furthermore, the edu sys is really far varied frm the edu in the east. they emphasize on oral performance, no MCQ, not even much written test, n truth is truth, bribery is common. but al in al, it depends on students thmselves, whether onot they r motivated onot. diligence is very important to b a good student but again, i feel tht a gd student isnt necessary a gd doc, who knows, rite?
