The latest U.N. report shows that 65 million people have been infected with HIV since it was first identified 25 years ago. Twenty five million people have died of AIDS.

Six medical workers who were imprisoned for more than eight years in Libya for allegedly intentionally infecting hundreds of Libyan children with HIV on Tuesday were pardoned by Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov after arriving in the country, the AP/Boston Herald reports (AP/Boston Herald, 7/24).
