hello guys,
at the moment, Australia considers Nepal as one of the restricted areas for travel for the purpose of electives. The restriction comes due to the volatile political nature of our country. as a result, elective done in nepal for any duration of time is not recognized. Many 4th years students had to ditch thier nepal elective and consider other areas like india. This is a shame. Are other countries facing such restrictions as well? What can we do to reinstate Nepal? | | The Following User Says Thank You to azureskye33 For This Useful Post: | | | Co-Admin | | Posts: 879 Thanks: 0

Well Azu, the german foreign ministry has categorized nepal as "not safe" for the tourists, so they suggest not to go there. But it is not restricted. And the state medical presidium has no such regulations, but students must have taken 120 days of elective with not more than 1 break, in given departments of hospital. Despite all political situations It is very much preferred that students go to third world, to gain and learn from a different experience.
Of course this is a shame, at least the education sector must have been left intact. But it is exactly opposite in our country, it has always been a victim.
Apropos to restore the country, I would say we the nepalese ppl must show red card to old generation politicians. They are old enough and should take their pension and live a Pilgrim life. They must make the way free. King now wants to make election, and I can't understand what the fool PIMPs want. Nepalese' life is already in Arse and they are pushing it deep inside. | | The Following User Says Thank You to Rajiv For This Useful Post: | | | xenoMED Advisor | | Posts: 367 Thanks: 0

nope, it seems fine here in the uk. i think i mentioned before that there were people from my year who went there just recently. my friends want to go this yr to nepal for their elective...and obviously i'm edging them on. i on the other hand have decided to take a year off and won't go for my elective for another year. however, i find it incredibly bumming that nepal is in the situation it is in, it could earn so much capital via the tourism industry. | | The Following User Says Thank You to demon_dissector For This Useful Post: | | | xenoMED Advisor | | Posts: 261 Thanks: 0

Aze,
For your elective come to Nepal. Its not that gun shot or blast goes on everyday or every moment its on the affected Districts only.
However Kathmandu is very very much secure. Come Ktm and do your elective you will have a life time experience.
Still people do come and many are doing their elective. So, start preparing to come here
