Well dear, I do know quite a few students of this college however I don't know if any of them have an account in this website. But what you can do to clear all your doubts is go for the informational seminar of this college, the details of which are mentioned above. The seminar would be a congregation of various aspiring medical students from all over the world along with the admission representatives from the college, faculty and students of the college too.

You can have a one to one word with these people to know more about the college and its education system.

When I was looking at the website of KMCICC (:\Documents and Settings\pratyushan\Desktop\1.mht), found that basically a student can partially study in Manipal and partially in Antigua. The student can then appear for his USMLE exams which are basically the gateway to becoming a US physician.

But here I want to ask that if we have to get USMLE even after studying at the university of Antigua or Kasturba, then what's really the difference studying there and here in US? After all we all have to take USMLE.

Hi,

I am applying for a few medical schools in India and Kasturba Medical College International Center (KMCIC), India, is one of them. Also to let you know that I am a US resident of Indian origin.

The reason why I decided to pursue my medical degree from India is because U.S. medical schools have their limited number of available positions which actually prevent many capable candidates from attending.

And the benefit of studying either in AUA or KMCIC is that one can appear for his USMLE exams can do his residency in US hospitals. Another is the cost. The cost of a Caribbean/Indian medical education is a fraction of the cost of U.S. medical schools. The primary purpose is teaching, including providing research opportunities for students, thus tuition can be held to a reasonable level, as opposed to U.S. medical schools where tuition underwrites a significant overhead expense that does not necessarily benefit the student.

Yes, u r rite. Even I think that cost is the main factor for which most students are moving out of US.

Last year a friend of mine was forced to move out of US just because she was not able to pay her 3rd sem fee. Today she has successfully completed her 3rd sem and is very happy to be their.

In my opinion, med schools located abroad are capable enough in providing the finest in infrastructure and facilities to its students when it comes to learning and research.

Thanks
Maggie

She is doing quite well...
She is presently studying in India and happens to like their professional ways of teaching. Thier the standard of medical education is very much equal to the highest U.S medical education standards. Generally, universities like AIIMS, Christian Medical College, JIPMER, Kasturba Medical College, etc ensures high quality training to its students and help them qualify the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam.

In fact, I scanned through the details provided on net and found out that Indian med schools are performing quite well.

And, the most exciting is that universities in India offer education at more affordable cost than any other recognised university in the world. The average cost of studying in India is almost one-fourth to that charged in western universities...
