Hello Everyone

I just found out about this site and am quite relieved that there is some reliable source to get information about admission in medical schools. My sister has completed her I.Sc. from KU and she wants to get in the MEd school. She did take entrance exam for KUMET but unfortunately could not make it to admission. What options are available to her now? We are considering sending her to Bangladesh (Chittagaon) but quite not sure about the procedure. The agents we spoke to said it will cost $11, 000 just to get in. How reliable are those agents? I could not find any website for that MED school. Our first preference for her would be to get a Medicine degree from Nepal. But that too, due to no clear information, we are not able to decide. With the same amount of money spent, which Med school in Nepal would be good for her? For total duration of MBBS, what is the tentative amount of money required?

I would highly appreciate if I could get any clear information.

Thanks in advance!

If she has passed KUMET Exam then she can apply KU affiliated Medical Colleges in Nepal which are listed according to alphabetical order
  1. College of Medical Science Bharatpur - CMS
  2. Kathmandu Medical Collge -KMC
  3. Kathmandu University Medical School - KUMS
  4. Manipal College of Medical Science - MCOMS
  5. Nepal Medical College - NGMC
  6. Nepalgunj Medical Collge - NMC
Some Medical College starts their session in July-Aug and other in Nov-Dec so still there is chance of getting admision in Nov-Dec session. For other detail visit the individual link and to get info on other medical colleges please visit Medical Colleges in Nepal.

If you are considering for Bangladesh we would advice you to go to Bangladesh Embassy or country itself and get the info since your spending more than 15-20 lakh for her education why don't you just spent few penny more to get the reliable information, thats what my friend did in the past incase you don't find relaible info in Nepal. For the time being this information would be helpful to you Medical Colleges in Bangladesh, MBBS study in Bangladesh

Since all the Medical Colleges are in the initial phase of development [~ 10 years history of establishment], we are not in a position to say which medical college is best in Nepal particularly in the private sector all are doing well and there is no authentic body who could say that such and such medical college is best in Nepal.

However personal opinion are there and might not be the same for all the medical colleges. Above all medical profession is getting tougher day by day again we would suggest you to visit the medical college in Nepal. If you want to get best of anything you have to do a through research on it.

If your sister is laborious, hard working, dedicted and has devotion to her study she can excell anywhere.

I would suggest you to read all the documents available in this link Medical Admission Info

Total duration of Medical School in Nepal is 5 1/2 years [4 1/2 years of medical eduction and 1 year internship] provided he/she doesn't fail in any examination.

Total cost of Medical Educaiton for Nepalese in Nepal is ranging from 16 -22 Lakhs, its not exact figure but similar. Its just a tuition fees. Other expenses for 5 1/2 year would cost 4 -6 lakh and the detail is available at Expenses for Medical Education

Therefore Tuition Fees + Other expenses would cost 23-28 Lakhs.

Best of Luck
