You seem to miss the Crux of the matter sis:
1. Money is a subsidiary not the one and only requirement for further study be it MBBS or any other. The best doctors in this country and even some of my fellow doctors had no financial muscle when they studied MBBS.
You might wonder if you realise how many scholorship seats are there in this country.Every medical college with foreign investment has to give 20of the seats and with nepali investment has to give 15% of the seats for scholorship to HMG.TUTH and BPKIHS have most of their seats for full or partial scholorships. Then there are so many seats from embassies and other sources. And from what i have seen the ministry exam is largely fair.In my college the best students were from the ministry seats(scholorship).
2. Even before you entertain the thought of how to study MBBS,you have
to think what do you want yourself to be doing in the future. If you want to be a doc.sure go for MBBS or else there are easier, shorter courses to do bachelor in any other subject. But let me remind you going abroad to study(though it fascinates everyone in nepal) is a really tough thing.I have met ppl in US who have come to study(mostly intermediate and bachelor level courses) and have turned into taxi drivers(not necessarily everyone) and those who are studying have a exhausting life, one guy told me(dai ramro sanga sutna paye kasto huncha hola jasto lagcha).coz unless you are a billionaire, sending money form nepal and studying in US is impossible and once you work and study,it becomes horrific(there are success stories also) but life becomes easier once you pass out.Coming here after a good bachelor's degree specially MBBS seems to be a lot lot better. As in residency u get paid and wont have to worry about the finances.
3. So,sis if you want to study MBBS and u have the gut feeling that u
are among the best,go for a government seat or TUTH or BPKIHS(I doubt the credibility of embessy seats).Say if u cannot cross the ministry hurdle but still want to study MBBS dont worry u fall among the majority and since your father will sponsor you that ends the story there.
4. Here comes the day of your graduation and you are now worried about your Residency(masters).Ok let me tell u,this should be the least of your worries, you could pass MBBS means you have the guts and the means to study further.Work for a while and support yourself,if you have the knowledge and the attitude to work, you will find a job, sooner than later.About a year of house job always helps. There are three options in front of you now.....
- GOVERNMENT JOB: If you really really feel for the ppl and want to help them and have the guts to tear through the muddle of beurocracy(there are ppl like that,am proud of them)..go for it.
- RESIDENCY IN NEPAL: TUTH (almost 40 seats), BPKIHS, NAMS, and now some medical colleges too...have lots of scholorship seats where they will pay you and teach you too.
- RESIDENCY ABROAD: There are two options:-
- PLAB (not the right choice rite now).
- USMLE (start preperation from intership, work, study during house job and earn to pay your application fees then give exam.....probably the best choice right now).Though USMLE does cost money but is not unmanagable and lots of my frns did it with out support from family.
DID YOU NOTICE ONE THING
" IS MONEY THE MOST IMPORTANT THING HERE??" you need money if u want to study in india and private seats in nepal(where u have to pay lump sum) but as i said it can easily be avoided.
5. Finally if you are studying MBBS try to choose any nepali college rather than college anywhere else(I MEAN ANYWERE!!) because our course is quite modern(KU affiliated colleges have mac master system),there is a certain level beyond which you cannot fall and above all you can handle patients here and that too quite early. But a lot depends on the particular medical student too and ppl who have studied in other countries also have done well.
Best of luck for your future ahead,be good at whatever you study.Thats the most important thing.More important than what you study.
