frns in china - 17-07-2006, 02:14 PM

hi frns,
I see in your photos that u guys perform NEPALI DANCES in your colleges.I was wondering from where do u guys get the costumes? It sounds funny but u know, while we were in our college had to sweat a lot to get it,although our college was in Nepal. In china how do u guys manage it?When u hire these things at times u tend to lose them too right. We had a big problem when one our frns lost a big ring(of course was fake) and our college had to pay hefty amount and we had to face the music afterwards.
I am fascinated by how we Nepalis manage to celebrate our festivals and proudly showcase our rich culture and heritage.
Kudos guys.Keep up the good work.

Love Nepal

hi frens,
here there is no problem about the dresses for the cultural programmes for we nepali's because we just have to tell the college authorities what we need and they help us in looking for the type of dress we are looking for only thing is that we have to return back to college coz its paid by the college .our college wants us to give some cultural programmes about our culture so they do all these for us

I agree with all of you guys n gals................... it's really gr8 to show Nepal's culture here in China ........................................... ....
I don't think one can get meat in Potato market(aloo-bazaar).......... so i think there are no any nepali culture expressing clothes in chinese market.........................

It'd be better if you ask for some pairs from back your home Nepal............................................. ....................

No tension at all..................

I am not the cultural leader here in our university, but what we did is w had some pics of nepali dresses and we went to the tailoring master and asked him to make clothes according to the master piece, and they made it very easily. Now all nepali people have daura suruwal set(of course no dhaka topi)and gals also have guniyo cholo and many decoratives.
You try this,I think its not that tough and it is cheap also.
So now we have the whole set of dresses for the cultural programs of any scale.
