Lifestyle and personality changes during medical life mainly in 1st year - 14-03-2006, 12:46 AM

We all have been changed mainly in the 1st year soon after we enroll in medical college.we sleep less than we used to do to cope with the study. Number of cigarette's stick and smoking hours increases. Those who don't know about alcohol becomes alcoholic. Every Friday is a good friday.Becomes book-worm and search for Gray's anatomy rather than Chaurasia or Snell's in the library in the 1st few month of 1st year.Searching for girlfriend in the class in 1st year. Our time table of Lunch and dineer changes. Lunch at mid-day and dinner at late evening.

what kind of changes u experience as u enroll in 1st year at medical college?

Well when I enrolled in my first year nothing such happened. Despite I slept more than before, studied only one month before the exams, thought to start studying soon next time but the same would repeate again, watch movie very often than usual etc.....
But though it was fun doing all those and miss those days now a lot.

We had the similar kind of mentality, first few month just went on looking at voluminous books, human disease process, bacterial, virus, biochmeical reaction, anatomical terms and terminology, pathology, pharmacological basis and ofcourse also looking at Girls - our batchmates... later on their attraction went off may be "ghar ki murgi dal barabar".

Whenever you read pharmacology you feel like - u have already become doctor hehehe we used to amazed as how week end and then month just flew away, Every new release movies with groups, hiring tempo and meeting with medical student from other medical college inside the hall.

Sombody became famous in the teacher's circle, Somebody purposed, someone's accepted, someone became famous for Devdas, then patch up with next girl, totally useless love none of the love story did work, ultimately ended with arranged.

Those who never smoke or drink became the chain smoker and alcoholic by the end of graduation. Somebody became famous for not passing out the MBBS in repeated attempts, few left the medicine for ever.

Basically, there is huge personality changes before joining and after joining the medicine. I never thought I would be sooo gafaaist at the end.

Still, newly graduate is confused as they never have been tough as how to shape the career. So, personality changes is goin on.......

Hey! I am at the end of my first year at medical school. I bet that i have not put a stick of cigarette in my mouth in my life, and hope I will never, neither have I ever drank even a drop of alcohol till date, and girlfriends, yes they are friends, but in serious terms they are almost out of question (really I am not joking!)

My dad said that his Professor TA Ramsay at the University of Warwick UK said that for a person to be a successful professional he/she must be far away from 3D's (DRUGS, DRINKS and DAMES). And today nearly 23 years after my dad has completed his post graduation, I have realised that really what his Professor said carries some very valuable knowledge that one must understand PROPERly.

people do change a lot its a professional study, you find all kind of people here you change the way you think about frenz, life, girlfrnd (become history-newst one replaces as medical study), the one who neve play games chosen to be the captain, lead drummer who just know how to bits differetn drums hehehe really funny isn't... if you know little thing you become expert even if you know nothing you are selected in the team members... beside study... other things are just to boost up infront of your child to say i did that i did that wht if you ur child and ur baby thnk you were multitalented you can show your college medals dude what if ur child know the history hehehhe
