Smile Blood donation program on Friday NOV 10, 2006 - 07-11-2006, 08:18 PM

Dear everybuddies!

In response to the news posted in xenoMED recently that Bhaktapur Red Cross is facing a blood crisis, we, the students of 3rd yr from KMC, as a group named CANVAS, are organizing a blood donation program this Friday (10th Nov, 2006). Lets us save some lives today!

Venue: Kathmandu Medical College, Duwakot, Bhaktapur
Time: 10 am onwards (most probably upto 3 pm)
Contact: Vivek (DoctorX), Surya, Manoj, or anyone from MBBS-III , 8th batch

Special arrangements:
- A bus will be going from KMC Teaching Hospital, Sinamangal to Duwakot venue) at 1:30 pm.
- Anyone who wants to donate blood can join in then. Please contact me (Vivek) or Surya or Manoj for confirmation.

I know this is a short notice, but we also worked out this program in this short notice. Sorry for the inconvinence (short notice)!

Give blood, save life!

Blood for humans comes only from humans.

You can't get blood from a turnip. Donate blood.

Do something amazing today. Save a life. Give blood!

Sincerely,

DoctorX
(Vivek D.)

Thumbs up Results of Blood donation program - 10-11-2006, 07:05 AM

Dear everybuddies!

This is to inform you all that today's blood donation program was a grand success. All the participating donors, organizers, volunteers had equal enthusiasm and spirit of humanity that made this program a huge success.

Total pints expected: 100
Total collected: 85
The number is 15 less than expected, but truly, we had donors ready, but the Red Cross of Bkt told us that that was enough and they couldn't accomodate more. In a way, they had underestimated our numbers, which proved wrong. I mean no offence to the Red Cross, but I sure they are impressed by the program and hope they will be even more cooperative in the future.

The program:

Began with pre-program preparations, volunteers from 8th, 9th and 10th batch, KMC. Then officially it started with a short formal opening remarks by our Basic Science Teachers, CRs' and me! The program went up to 3 pm (starting from before 11 am).

Thanks goes to every single buddies who were present and contributed their valuable effort in the program. Thumbs up!
Organizers: CANVAS, a group of initially (and presently) 9 students from KMC, 3rd yr MBBS

Members of CANVAS (Organizer):

Vivek Dhungana
Manoj Kumar Chaudhary
Surya Prasad Rimal
Trishna Shrestha
Bonisha Sthapit
Bishnu Sigdel
Sushant Kumar Yadav
Suman Prasad Adhikari
Anurag Prasad Singh

It is all who did it. Once again thank you guys!Thank you everybody!

Donating blood is saving life.
