New cases in Pous 2064, HIV = 175, AIDS = 26, Death = 2. HIV rate is very high in Housewives than sex workers in Nepal ! ! ! HIV status in Nepal till 2005: Total Adult=70000, Adult Prevalence (15-49)=0.55%, Number of Women (15-49) LWHA=15,310 (22%), HIV Prevalence rate in IDUs=32.7%, HIV prevalence rate in sex worker=3.8%, HIV prevalence rate in client of SW=2.1%. The latest U.N. report shows that 65 million people have been infected with HIV since it was first identified 25 years ago. Twenty five million people have died of AIDS.

Public Awareness Programme-Dr. D.B.Karki - 30-01-2008, 06:52 PM

Prof. Dr. D.B.Karki is coming up with a Public Awareness Programme on hypertension on 1st of Feb. at KMCTH Lec. Hall B where the general public will participate with a pre-registration and they will be given a presentaiton on Hypertension and will also have a direct interaction with the doctor on their problems.

This programme is intended to be continued with discussions on different diseases in each programmes.

This is a great approach by Dr. D.B. Karki. I hope this programme will bring a new view about the diseases and its pattern in the society and help the people to broaden their knowledge.

i support this program from my heart. we need more progs like this, but we lack in place and other resources... pls do continue this at KMC . others can also take clues to start similar initiatives.
