I agree with fifth element for what he said…………….. its truly a 8th batch magazine and misused the name, as being a college magazine. Recently I saw the magazine and I must say there are more despicable things or shall I say contents in the magazine than things to praise. First and for most to all the members of the 8th batch magazine………. How would you like if some one changed your name to something else?? Just something new to try …. I am sure you wouldn’t like it? Well the KMC magazine, since its evolvement have been called Sanjiwani, and the seniors didn’t just throw that name out of nowhere ; I am sure they thought of it for good and honestly its really good name for the medical college magazine. It just shows disrespect to the seniors and the slap on the tradition of the KMC. Second, what the fifthelement pointed out……………. “GROW UP FELLOWS “ labeling your own friends, the poll thing Very childish act. Wake up guys you are not in 6th class …………………hello ……..medical college is a professional college and please act like one. Labeling your own class mates as the “most bossy”, talkative, and so on its so pathetic thing to do, shows how immature you all can be. Third, Since when did we have deputy class representative….. very funny, or maybe a sexist act, whatever it is, you guys started a new trend having a hierarchy and discrimination….” Good job “ Last, and probably what everyone is complaining about the magazine is, “ how come no graduating batch’s profile”. And WHY WHY only 8th batch’s picture I mean GOD, (don’t get me wrong you all look good) when you guys mention or have pages on the basic science, there is another student of 8th batch…. Don’t you think that there are 200 basic science students who will be more than happy to represent themselves,??? Or is it just another way of saying “Hey look we are selfish, its our magazine and forget about others lets jus put ours” Well enough said. I have read all the comments here and only one person defending it, I would really like what the other members of the magazine have to say or even chief editor for that matter.

Dear friends, I would like to let you know few facts about the history that "Sanjiwani" and the KMCians carry along with them when this discussion is really getting heated. I still rem'em the days when in KMC there used to be only few batches and upon it the thought of KMC "shutting down". So, all of you who are into KMC at present consider yourself very very lucky that you don't have to face the same trauma that we passed through. But mind it KMC still bears the same stigmata whatever you guys say! During our medical school days we did all the best we could do that would keep up the name and fame of KMC (except few exceptions, you know there always are!) and tried to set up trends that would unanimously speak the voice of KMC and KMCians and among them was "Sanjiwani"!! Does anyone of you know how "Sanjiwani" got its name? I bet not! Otherwise we would have never seen this day where there was an attack upon "Sanjiwani". The pioneers of KMC along with the help of other batches held poll about giving a name to the college magazine. It was not an easy job and will never be. Everyone had a name of their own and each of the names was unique. But finally it had to be decided. Most of the doctors working then were consulted too about giving a name. So, one of the first batch students who had choosen “Sanjiwani” got approval by all bodies. Academicians from KMC and all those who were involved also decided that the trend of bringing out “Sanjiwani” should be passed down to all the new batches. Have you guys seen the first issue of “Sanjiwani”? Again, I bet not! Otherwise you wouldn’t be talking this way. The cover page has “Hanuman” who’s carrying the mountain where the herbal medicine sanjiwani grows. It may look very primitive to you guys, and of course it would look for sure in the hi-tech years! But it just needs a humane feeling to understand the emotions and sentiments that is attached with it. Bringing out a college souvenir in the days when access to computer and internet was limited is in itself praiseworthy!! I’m not blowing my own trumpet, instead the trumpet of the whole first few initial batches in KMC who were successful in bringing out “Sanjiwani”. Its not an easy job as everyone of you know it, that’s why there were few years when “Sanjiwani” went into a period of vacuum. Now let me put my views about the so called college magazine which doesn’t bear the name “Sanjiwani”. First of all congratulations that at least you were successful in bringing out a magazine. Personally I haven’t had a chance to go through a copy of it. But from what I have been reading in xenomed seems like it is no more like a college magazine. It’s a batch magazine. To be recognized as a college magazine atleast the basic criteria should have been fulfilled (named as “Sanjiwani”, profiles of outgoing batches). In a college magazine the outgoing graduating batches get the most preference and not the profiles of the publishing batches who will be graduating couple of years later. If they wish to they can do that too but please remove the tag as “KMC students magazine” and also the tag of “Sanjiwani”. If you have used the name “Sanjiwani” then there has to be the profiles of the outgoing batches, no matter which batches does the publishing works. There’s no exception!!! If any batch has personal publications then you could use any other more creative names and publish it as a batch magazine and that way the publishing batch would have another feather on their hat!! But if you are into “Sanjiwnai” then it should bear and carry all the past sentiments and should be published with even more zeal. You will see the charm and satisfaction in everybody’s face when each of the graduating doctors also has a copy of “Sanjiwani” together with their medical diploma. You will understand this emotional attachment when you are out into the world and all set to start off with a medical career. I’m glad and so are my friends out here that finally “Sanjiwani” is getting a life again. Good luck to every one of you who are involved both directly and indirectly with publication of “Sanjiwani” “Long live KMC, Long live Sanjiwani” "Be glad of life because it gives you the chance to love, and to work, and to play and to look up at the stars" - Henry Van

Every work has got some positive & negative aspect as nobody can be so perfect not to commit any mistakes. I admit that we have done some mistakes but a good critic should always point out both the positive & negative things. Only negative minded people only looks at the darker aspect, so plez look at both the aspect.
is publishing a journals is only the positive aspect then okie you got one point but 99 points are negative soooooooo ....... negative point outnumbered positive as we omit in mathematical calculation when the value is too low so don't day dream you gusy did a good job it could have been better if it was not published.
you gave yourself the credit of doing such a difficult job of publishing a magazine by putting your profile on it...its ok you should get some reward.. ..... you put everything '8th batch' in your magazine and you still have the guts to call it a college magazine???thats really disgusting.....
well said fifth_element, they should get the reward
rightwings you go the point “GROW UP FELLOWS “ physically they have but not mentally “ how come no graduating batch’s profile”. And WHY WHY only 8th batch’s picture I mean GOD When they can avoid the graduating batch then it is obvious that they would ignore other batch picture too so i think it is self understood we can not expect more than this ... morons ... I would really like what the other members of the magazine have to say or even chief editor for that matter. I don't think he has gut to face the crowed outside, it is far better to commit crime inside a room than to face the law outside. It was not an easy job and will never be thanks Nep_pal for highlighting the historical background i believe it is a big blow to those who think they had lots of difficulties publishing this useless piece.
Even a criminal says he did the best (with his best interest - not for others) even if he is sent for life sentence or hanged till death so publishing guys and gals will never except this truth that they did a blunder though at some point they say sorry and on the other hand ...... Why are the great book writers silent? Did you guys admit your mistake? If so, don't feel shy to say sorry but you have to say sorry to your seniors. Its not an easy pass.
And if you are not sorry for your deeds, comeon , give the reason why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | | Member | | Posts: 58 Thanks: 17
