New cases in Pous 2064, HIV = 175, AIDS = 26, Death = 2. HIV rate is very high in Housewives than sex workers in Nepal ! ! ! HIV status in Nepal till 2005: Total Adult=70000, Adult Prevalence (15-49)=0.55%, Number of Women (15-49) LWHA=15,310 (22%), HIV Prevalence rate in IDUs=32.7%, HIV prevalence rate in sex worker=3.8%, HIV prevalence rate in client of SW=2.1%. The latest U.N. report shows that 65 million people have been infected with HIV since it was first identified 25 years ago. Twenty five million people have died of AIDS.

MMSN South Asian Conference on Sep-15, 2007 at Kathmandu!!! - 11-09-2007, 04:35 AM

Dear All,

It is our pleasure to announce that we are going to organize a "Mountain Medicine: The South Asian Experience II" on Sep-15 (Saturday), 2007 under the coordination of Dr Prajan Subedi and with an enhanced cooperation of BP Koirala Nepal Foundation (Indian Embassy) and Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA) Nepal.

The registration for the programme is now open!!!

Registration Fee: NRs 200/- (On the spot registration will not be
entertained) !!!


Online and email registration will also be declined.

Only limited number of participants will be registered: 75 individuals
and it is only for the MMSN registered members
. No new members will be accepted for this conference.

It is first come, first priority basis.

Registration will be closed whenever the Quota (75) reached or by
Sept-13 (Thursday) late night.



Venue: Hotel Himalaya, Lalitpur

Morning and Day Session : 8.00 AM Sharp

Evening Session : 6.30 PM



The speakers from Nepal are very much requested to prepare their power point slides by coming Monday!!! We will be having practice/trial time limit presentation on Wednesday. Every speaker has no more than 20minutes presentation. We will have provision of power cut off if the speaker goes beyond his/her time limit.

Dr Ksitiz Alekh had much responsibility and work as a vice president. He proved himself great here. Congratulation Dr Alekh.

We also released newsletter on this occasion. Thanks to the editor Dr Santosh K Dhungana. Keep up the good work.

All other MMSN people who have worked day and night like Dr Suraj Parajuli, Dr Subhash Khanal, Dr Santosh K Dhungana, Dr Kaushal R Pandey, Mr Ashis Lohani, Mr Pradeep Chapagain, to name few deserve much kudos and we are grateful to all of them. Thanks to all and everybody.
