New cases in Pous 2064, HIV = 175, AIDS = 26, Death = 2. HIV rate is very high in Housewives than sex workers in Nepal ! ! ! HIV status in Nepal till 2005: Total Adult=70000, Adult Prevalence (15-49)=0.55%, Number of Women (15-49) LWHA=15,310 (22%), HIV Prevalence rate in IDUs=32.7%, HIV prevalence rate in sex worker=3.8%, HIV prevalence rate in client of SW=2.1%. The latest U.N. report shows that 65 million people have been infected with HIV since it was first identified 25 years ago. Twenty five million people have died of AIDS.

Second Executive Body of MMSN Elected !!! - 18-03-2007, 12:46 PM

Dear All!

It's our pleasure indeed to inform you all that the General Assembly of
the Mountain Medicine Society of Nepal (MMSN) was held on Chaitra 3, 2063
(March 17, 2007) at 2.00PM in Basic Science Building of IOM.

Dr Prajan Subedi presented activities, economic transactions, progress
reports and different aspects of society during his tenure. Dr Soni
Srivastav high lighted the spirit of the society.

The elections committee comprised:
Chief Election Commissioner: Dr Prajesh Man Joshi
Members: Dr Soni Srivastav and Dr Promish Shrestha


The GA went successfully with the unanimous election of the second
executive body.

Prof Dr Buddha Basnyat had some enlightenment words about society,
activities, objectives and future perspective of MMSN.

The new executive will formally be active with a forthcoming meeting where
handover and takeover will take place within a week or so.

The new executive body would like to extend sincere gratitude and thanks
to the previous body and Dr Prajan Subedi (Secretary of previous body) who
was single handedly involved with all these activities.

We are looking forward a bright aspects of society. It's clear that it
will only possible when each and every member have a concerted effort. We
expect every member's cooperation.
