Welcome to the world of xenoMED - 28-09-2006, 08:09 PM

Dear Sir,

I am so glad to have your presence at xenoMED. Whenever we meet he is the one who used to insist me to have some website that could be a helpful resource for all the Nepalese Medical Professional but I never talk about xenoMED because I knew, he would find out someday & somehow and Sir, here you are as I wished for. I thank Dr. Tuladhar for his untiring effort to expand xenoMED day by day, you are an asset for our community.

Let me have this honor to introduce Prof. Sharma to the xenoMED members. Prof Sharma, popularly known as Dr. P. R. Sharma and his colleagues address him as “Pushpa”. He is Head of Departments of Paediatrics, Institute of Medicine, Maharajgunj and is the first Nepalese Medical Person to have own website containing educational materials for medical students, Residents and Professionals. He has been an examiner for Medical Students and Post Graduates Paediatrics Residents for many years.

Long before meeting at NEPAS Conference (Nepal Paediatric Society), I knew him through his book “A hand book of paediatric problem” which I read extensively during my clinical years and help me a lot to enrich my knowledge in the pediatrics. This is a must read book for all the medical students.

While doing research for my article on “What’s on the Net? – Review of Nepalese medical websites” which published in Kathmandu University Medical Journal. I found that only his website contained educational material for Medical Students and Professionals. His hobbies includes Photography, research & Publications, use of PDA for medical education who believes that IT can help a lot for our profession.

xenoMED Medical Sites has link to his web sites at Personal websites category as Dr. Pushpa Raj Sharma pediatrician

Some of his finest online work for Medical students and post graduate doctors are

Disease in Pictures: More than 100 Clinical Pictures with their description a useful resources for Medical Students and Professionals

For Medical Students and Professionals – Lecture Notes & PowerPoint Presentation

Resources for Medical Students & Residents

And a very usful infromation for Parents
