Medical Practice without Internship!!!!!!!!!!!! I too don't agree with this.
1 year internship is necessary. But

Quote:
"We have completed our internship in China but the government is unnecessarily asking us to do a pre-internship before we take up work in Nepal," said a fresh MBBS graduate from Tianjin Medical University near the Chinese capital, Beijing.
Doesn't this mean that they have completed their internship????

Unhappy no waYD.. - 18-01-2006, 01:02 AM

in china in chinese medium, 5yrs -mbbs- course includes 2 semesters' internship. this doesn't fulfill the criteria that -nmc- is imposin us after we graduate from here!?
whatever.. studyin in other language than -english- is not so lucky for us in somany aspects..
still, had the -1 yr compulsory internship- gets cancelld bythetime we come home this yr, its better ofcours,
we wont lose 1 yr as we already lost here by takin chinese language..
no much choice..
mayb whaterver happens happens for good..

doing internship in own country is not a bad thing ,but i think it shouldnot be a compulsary for every one because some wants to do internship in their parent instituite ,some wants to do it in third country ....medical practice without internship is impossible .thesedays even in commerce faculty, one should have to do internship . but here question arises like 5 years course and 5.5 years course (including internship) .here in china most of the universities have 5 yrs medical course and they use to send their students to do 8 months preinternship to fullfill NMC criteria ,so i dont think that here is problem .
but before making one year internship compulsory in nepal ,government should have to make its infrastructure co0mplete so that there will not be any difficulty for internship in nepal ...mero ta dad bir ma cha ,mero ta uncle army ma cha milayidihalcha ni ..malaye ta keko tension ...mero ta koi pani chayina yaar koi ke garne ke ...
but to our surprise here government and NMC is playing a drama ifront of Us .NMCsays foreign graduates must have to do one year compulsory internship in nepal as they are unknown to the disease pattern of our country. and in other hand GOvt. says we can't do internship in thier hospitals ...
so what is the soultion then ????????????????????????????

i totally agree wid Psoas....d intership here in china n nepal will definitely be different...dere r lotsa things here in our Uni they dunt allow to do....we can only assist d operation doin no major things......in our uni we have 5 yrs medical course wid d internship included then we go back to nepal....ofcourse we should be havin a year intern....we r studyin in chinese medium n i think it's necessary firt to cope up wid d things....we can't just translate d chinese to english n stuffs.......or else they can do as whoever wants to take d intern they can others they can just give d NMC exam......as d NMC says yes we r unknown to so manythings after studyin here....it's not like wastin 1 more year ...it's becomin a gud doc.....well for meh i guess....after i pass out frm here...a 1 yr internship in Nepal is necessary.......

Unhappy hi - 01-05-2006, 09:01 PM

government in nepal means "" who ever is in power can make any rule they like , what they think is convinient for themselves "".

i actually still do not understand , what the real word NMC EXAM means ??????
i guess it is a screening exam b4 a MBBS graduate are allowed to practice.

if there is already iron gate then why these minor gates b4 & after this???????????

get knowledge anywhere in the world............... if you are really eligible & have knowledge for your profession.......... 1 screening exam ..... as such NMC is enough...... but the screening exam should be non corrupted.

or else .. make 100 such screenings............. those who have no knowledge ,but have political jack will go through it easily..............but......... thouse who have knowledge but no jack ......... still remains out.

this brings frustration to the scholars
