Dear fellows,
Irrespective of the country (china, russia, georgia, rest of world) , whereever you are enrolled ; first get degree from your university / college and come to nepal ( get passed certificate from your institution ). If your syllabus is not approved by NMC ( like in case you are the seniormost nepalese facing nepal from that college) , then take a copy of your syllabus and submit with your certificate in Nepal Medical Council. Then wait for 2 weeks/ 4 weeks or sometimes more for your syllabus approval and then you ll get a provisional certificate to do internship in nepalese hospital.
Then go to the hospital that i listed in page 1 of the same thread and file for the application. If you fulfill their criteria then u can get seat for internship.
About elective / pre-internship .. its not pre-requisite of NMC. It means NMC won't be asking you for pre-internship. For example, take my case I finished my MBBS from Xinxiang medical College ( 4.5 yrs ) then i went to NMC , submitted my syllabus and Mark - sheets, then i got provisional certificate then i went to a private hospital applied for a seat in Internship program they accepted me and now i am doing it.
About government hospital and Bir i heard that unofficial decision was made by Minister, Secretary bla bla.. allowing internship in Govt. hospital but only for those students enrolled in 2001 year. But Notice had not came till now. They told this thing in front of many students in a meeting held 7/8 days back but documented notice is yet to come.
And after finishing your internship , get a certificate of completion of internship from the respective hospital go to NMC and file for NMLE . If you succeeded in NMLE then you will get Temporary NMC reg. no which will automatically become permanent in 2 yrs.
This is a gross detail about preinternship and internship for all Foreign Nepalese Students studying abroad. remember that silence is sometimes the best answer
