I heard that students studying outside nepal are no longer allowed to do internship in Govt. hospitals of Nepal .. is it true ? Would anybody plz get a scanned copy of NMC notice and post here ??
and if it is true , where should they do their internship, if their internship in respective college of study is not validated by NMC ?
Plz clarify it !! remember that silence is sometimes the best answer

It is really exhausting. I can't understand, for what is the government there? Should they make our way easier or harder? And what is the sense of this rule? Are they intending to increase internship fee in future or are they making Internship place for graduated from Nepal secure??
What is going on actually?
Instead of promoting co-operative learning between foreign graduates and Nepalese grad, they are narrowing the opportunities. It would be so fruitful, if they could do internship together, conduct some seminars and share experience and knowledge.
For me personally I don't care, I ll do my internship here, which is recognized there. But there are so many students who are studying in foreign country and their internship is not recognized. It is really a shame on NMC, I don't care for which good reason they introduced this rule. My University, which is ranked 17th best medical university in the world, does not care if I would do my Internship in a small hospital with poor infrastructure and equipments, like that in a rural village in nepal, so why is NMC doing that? I don't think it is a way to improve the quality. Students must get opportunity to get different experiences. NMC must introduce transparent and co-operative reform for students if it wants to improve the quality.
I remember a part of Gandhi's song: "....sabko sanmati de bhagwan".

if it is true, NMC is shooting the gun at its own foot!! Instead NMC should use various means to attract more foreign trained doctors for the country. At this rate, the number of nepal trained docs will be lost to some Western countries and those who really want to come back to nepal will be lost due to some ridiculous rules that they have hatched!!
this is quite pathetic to say the least. | | The Following User Says Thank You to azureskye33 For This Useful Post: | | | xenoMED Advisor | | Posts: 261 Thanks: 0

Well Guys,
Sorry for my late response, actually I always try to speak the authentic news only, I can't speak my word until I see the authenticity of the News.
I don't say the rumor is not true, I am constatnly in touch with NMC, they say that - "We are also hearing this type of rule but we haven't done it, may be its Ministry of Health"
So, I am working on it to find out the truth. There are various kind of rumor going on, see below:-
"this rule is for those who are studying in Nepal"
"I have also heard, my friends say they read it on 'Nepal', 'Himal'
"I heard this news in the radio News"
"It was on Annapurna News Paper"
"Internship will not be allowed in the Govt. Hospital"
"No, no, its for pre-internship only"
Some say friend told me, some say heard in the news, some say read in the magazine so the rumor is going on. I will give you the authentic news once I finalize the truth.
But its for sure that this wasn't done by NMC. Angel xenoMED | NDR “Nothing brings me more happiness than helping people in the society. Dear All,
Yes, Ministry have published such news that one has to do the internship in the parent intstitute. But you don't have to worry as It is very encouraging news for some of you that I had informal talk with most of the NMC members are very much positive towards the medical student sentiment.
Very soom NMC is having a meeting on this issue. NMC members namely Prof. JP Agrawal, Prof. Chet Raj Pant, Prof. Sekhar Babu Rijal are very much in favour of medical student they have said that if this rule has to be implemented, it should be done in phasewise atleast those who are studying now won't suffer from this rule and it could take more than 5 years to be implemented fully.
So, don't worry guys, you won't have any problem, I guess, but it has to be finalize by NMC. Hopefully they wil do it soon.
For those who are thinking to pursue thei medical education outside have to think a lot. Please let your friend know about this recent update.
