New cases in Pous 2064, HIV = 175, AIDS = 26, Death = 2. HIV rate is very high in Housewives than sex workers in Nepal ! ! ! HIV status in Nepal till 2005: Total Adult=70000, Adult Prevalence (15-49)=0.55%, Number of Women (15-49) LWHA=15,310 (22%), HIV Prevalence rate in IDUs=32.7%, HIV prevalence rate in sex worker=3.8%, HIV prevalence rate in client of SW=2.1%. The latest U.N. report shows that 65 million people have been infected with HIV since it was first identified 25 years ago. Twenty five million people have died of AIDS.

This hospital has been providing quality care for the third year now, since its opening. Few months back, there were no doctors in the government hospital in Ilam, so we were having a lot of cases. DMBPC was the only hospital to provide health services. But in one of the daily newspapers we had some news published against this hospital( the news was posted in xenomed too!!).
Nobody knows what these journalists want!! It seems there's no maturity in nepalese journalism. At least these peoples could have visited the hospital for few minutes, talked to local peoples nearby & digged into the reality for a positive outcome.
Not merely a change in the government system is always helpful; a radical change in Nepalese peoples psyche should follow as well for the betterment!

Lets we all doctors be united.
