09-11-2007, 11:01 AM
About 100 Nepalese Medical students in China Three Gorges University in Yichang state, China were badly injured in an attack by about 400 Indian Students a few days back.
# This news is an indirect phone call relay so the infos may not exactly tally the incident. Readers are requested to confirm from sources if there are any and post here if possible.Students of China are specially requested to give updates on the incident.
The conflict began when some Nepalese students from other states came to the college and had small conflicts with the Indian medical students there. Then few days later when some Nepali students of the college accidentally entered the Indian students room the issue was relighted and clash occured on revenge of which the Nepali students again beat up few indian students next day. Later the other day, as far as we have come to know, about 400 Indian students attacked the Nepali students in the hostels. Many had their limbs, skull fractured. Students were thrown from 1st floor of the hostel too. There was a clash for a while and when the Nepalese students were outnumbered, they had to flee and that was when those unable to flee were badly beaten up. About 100 students are said to be injured.
Laptops, PCs, cell phones & money were taken along by the Indian students or damaged while passports and books were burnt down after the Nepalese students fleed their rooms. They say that security personnel of the college and the cops were acting silent observers when the whole incident occured.
Now the students are being kept in a guest house after treatment and are being restricted to go their hostels. They have no money and passports and no help coming from anywhere. The college has promised them compensation but there is no information on any action taken to the Indian students. This is the latest information got on the event.
As I said earlier, this is a information received from a second person after the later had a talk in the phone with his brother who too is one of the injured. So, informations may not exactly tally the incident or maynot be upto date. We request our members there in China to get info on the event and inform us. We too will be working on recieving further informations on the incident.
Also, I would like the readers to forgive us if any information has been wrongly relayed understanding the mode of the news receival.

That's really gross! Such a brutal act and no action has been taken on those attackers. Our poor Nepalese friends are facing such a troubled time now. Aren't the Nepalese students from other colleges helping them out.
This is the time when brothers can be of some use. Comeon guys, check them out and I am sure there is a lot you can do at this hard time.
Please give more updates on the event when recieved.
Thank you anyway for the information Raaz. | | Senior Member | | Posts: 1,429 Thanks: 107

That is what I too am expecting Gazzette, that our Nepalese friends in China can get informed about it and get their to help those in trouble. Moreover, we are having trouble getting updated from that place due to lack of contacts. Lets hope friends out there get out of this hard time soon. | | Senior Member | | Posts: 579 Thanks: 15

I too knew about the incident a few days after it happened and was really sad to know that one of my senior's brother who was studying in that college was too injured in the incident. Though he had nothing to do with the ongoing dispute but he was suddenly attacked in his hostel room that day and had head injuries. His belongings have all been destroyed or looted. Hope the government deals with the situation soon and the victims will get justice.
I came to know that there were Nepali teachers in that college but were unable to do anything in that situation. They are trying their best to improve the situation there. Sarensa

This yichang medical college is in a place called yichang itself. There were more Indians in this college than the Nepalese due to what this misfate occured. If there had been no ratio difference between Nepalese and Indians neither should would ever dare to do such a mischief. | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to Jarhead For This Useful Post: | | | Senior Member | | Posts: 326 Thanks: 14

the news is real as i know, i am also one that was in the conflict between indian students and students from another state . That conflict was solved that time but this time it was not totally of that incident. As i came to know it is due to the ragging of indian students to new nepali students in that collage . Nepali students never do ragging so when indian student started ragging they opposed and beat some indian students and drama started as mention there .
At present police is investigating the case and nepali students are in hotel .
As in other collage there in big conflict between other countries students . Nowadays there are many indian and pakistanis students so nepali students are less . Being less in number may cause some problem in conflicts but such situation has not came besides incidents in some collages . | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to schwann For This Useful Post: | | | New Member | | Posts: 19 Thanks: 0
