It is good to know that Nepalese studnets in Nepal are living in harmony with others except the Indian students.
The attitude of Indian studnets regarding ragging is a really bad thinga and they carry that to other places they study. That never improved and will never improve because they never realise that it is bad.
We can do nothing about that except be a mute victim.
Sundarsolam asked for a harsh action against Indian students but that is very unlikely to happen and we cannot do anything even then. Poor Nepal and poor Nepalese. | | New Member | | Posts: 1 Thanks: 0

i have been following this thread carefully, and when one of the member talked about how Indian students carry their ragging tradition no matter where they go i wanted to say something on this regards; i too have heard about ragging here in our own KMC, Just last year one of the first year indian student came up to me (being the CR of 9th batch) he wanted to see if i can do anything. The indian student expressed how humiliated he felt, after the ragging was done. Then i was in Duwakot, i inquired if it was occuring in duwakot or in sinamangal, i found out the seniors Indians were calling the basic science students in sinamangal and ragging them. I found out who the culprit was then called him and told him, not to do such thing, we had a little conflict over the phone but since then i haven't heard of anything like that.
I ask raj dai what can we do as a CR when we find out about this kind of things?? Probin Shrestha

Probin, it is really a matter of concern and I see that you too have been trying to work on it. I was also very deeply concerned and involved in the matter few years back and believe me, I realised that it is something you can never stop.
The students whom I tried to help out of ragging and more or less I did were found out to be involved in the ragging to their juniors next year. I really felt embarrassing after knowing that.
Few Indian students from 8th batch who were staying at the hostel when I was in second year came up to me and said that they were being called up to Sinamangal for ragging and they didn't want to go. They were actually called every weekend or even frequently. I took care of the matter and had various conflicts with the Indians regarding it. However, later next year as I told you, few from those students were heard to be involved in the ragging to their juniors. So, what was the use? I just became like a personal guard for them. That's embarrasing! They never learn! I mean no offence to all the Indian students but few are that way.
So, I would never let Nepali Students get ragged but for the Indians, I took off my hand form the matter after that event. Its not that I gave up but I felt no use getting involved in it coz it won't bring long term improvement but only few personal problems would be solved. I hope you understood. However Probin, it is a matter I will always be concerned upon and I would rather meet you up someday and talk about its solution. Now you are the leading batches. We are about to retire in few months. From your jobs till date I am sure you will do better stuffs in the future.
So, I will see you soon to talk on the matter then. Take care | | Senior Member | | Posts: 1,380 Thanks: 106

Thank you for the information and I will make sure that I will correct the name of the college as soon as possible. It was probably due to a misinterpretation. However we all xenoMED family hope that you people will get out of this bad time as early as possible and if there is anything we can do from our side to help you guys, please fell free to mention. Take care! | | New Member | | Posts: 1 Thanks: 0
