xenoMED NOW & THEN??? - 03-10-2007, 10:46 PM

This September, xenoMED brought about a lot of changes in its outlook and also a lot of new features too. The ones responsible for this update must have done a lot of hard work. I liked the changes and it makes me more comfortable to surf xenoMED. How do you guys feel? If you have any comments or suggestions, please do post.

There was a total change for sometime that made the forums easily accessible. That I liked because all the hidden things that I havent explored so far I could see.

The new look; well, to say it frankly, I don't find much change. Can you tell us what are the changes.

Thank you all for the comments and suggestions. The changes we have brought in xenoMED are:
1. We have moved it to a new server, because we were facing some problems(installation of some features not supported) in our old server.
2. We have upgraded the style. Thank you for appreciating the style.
3. All the features are upgraded to the latest versions provided, this provides consistency.

However, there has been lot of complaints on the slowness during opening of a page. We are looking into it (sorry about this as it has been this long and I still have to say that). We will be trying to remove the images and put textual links in the menu bar and make the page size as low as it can get. In that way the initial page load which takes too much time with dialup will be reduced.

We are looking at server logs, database logs, codes etc. Unfortunately we have not been able to find any bugs.

We appreciate your support and we look forward to hearing from you to make xenoMED the best.

Thank you.

I agree with SUMAN-SAJAN for the slogan. Both share and be shared mean same thing. Look is definitely better but difficult to load. And also we get logged off after sometime. I came to know it's for security purpose but very tedious for those who take time to upload their post ( I mean we have to log in again and again).

Is this problem of automatic "log off" still there for you? Please check to make sure that you have "cookies" enabled in your browser.

Vinod ji, the log off problem is now not so frequent as before but its not totally gone. Just now I faced it. About being slow, its still kinda slow. I guess those using Dial up are having a lots of problem. Others, for me I find it really good. About the Slogan, SHARE & BE SHARED, Sanju said:

, I guess she is right. I never thought on that. I would like Angel Dai to have his say on this. Dai, please!!!!!!!!

The new look is good but yet lot of changes are required. First thing, it should be user friendly. Regular net surfers may find it easy to go through but those who are not used to such forums may find it confusing. But however, I can see that the people working behind it are doing their best. keep it up.

This is my first time in xenomed but I found it really good. I don't know how it was before but i am sure they have changed things for good. Nice work pats. People seem to be very interactive in here.
