Re: Multiple Bomb Blasts in Kathmandu!!!! - 09-09-2007, 06:24 AM

So, one thing everyone agrees is reaction of people to the incidence is not natural.

There should have been more action - from the side of people, from the leaders, and the so called security services.

We enjoy music and am glad that there are some of us who know the meaning of the lyrics as well.

Prashant is liked by Nepalese and Udit is liked by Indians. But, we should see beyond that.

Listen to another song by the same band 1974AD - Bacha ra bachna deu. It says 'Manchey banau' not just Nepali and non-Nepali, not just terain and non-terain

Bomb hoax’ near royal palace - 11-09-2007, 11:36 PM

Kantipur Report

KATHMANDU, Sept 11 - A suspected bomb found in front of the northern gate of the Narayanhity royal palace Tuesday afternoon turned out to be a hoax.
Bomb disposal squads of the Nepali Army, Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force were pressed into action shortly after the ‘bomb scare’.

They recovered a bag filled with potatoes and other harmless stuff, the police informed.

The area in the vicinity of the royal palace wore a tense look and traffic had been affected due to the ‘bomb scare’ that came at a time when the people are trying to come to terms with the serial bomb blasts which had rocked the capital on September 2.

Three persons were killed and more than two dozens were injured when bombs went off almost simultaneously at the busy market places in Tripureshwor, Sundhara and Balaju during a rush hour.

Re: Multiple Bomb Blasts in Kathmandu!!!! - 28-09-2007, 12:52 AM

Its been not long after that mourning moment in Kathmandu but I think the busy people here have already forgotten the day and got back into their schedules. Neither the culprits have been found nor any informations given to the people about it. Noone seem to remember that day anymore.
Few days ago, I saw the interview of BabuRam Bhattarai in Kantipur TV. When he was asked about the event, he replied,"The goverment has identified the culprits are gathering enough evidences against them. Only the Home Ministry, high officials and we know who the culprits are and it has not been leaked out due to security reasons but one thing I can tell you is that they are the people linked to the Palace"
Is the statement given by him a truth or is it just a political game played to accuse the Royal Family? Noone knows!!!!!

Thx Raaz for reminding of the incidence again. Almost all of us have forgotten and politicians who intend to get something out of it have it in mind and they keep on mentioning the incident.

Person like Dr. Bhattarai also makes such comments. He is one of the intellectuals among Nepalese. There is nothing hidden from us why he must have poked about the incidence.

The present government is supposed to be giving example of 'people's government' and they still find excuse to keep facts hidden means people are dumb. He mentions about Security issue - whose? Culprit's or our? If it if our security then I am sure we would be more secure if we know the whole truth. So, he is bull shitting. Them telling 'people linked to palace' is nothing new. I wonder what will they say if some of their ladies get pregnant. Sorry for this harsh comment but we Nepalese have such a good sense of humor that everything seems to be joke these days.

''The fact is Paras himself came and planted to bomb and hearing the big blast his weak heart gave away and he had a heart attack'' - that is the report they will not hesitate making and we will believe.

Somedays ago, it was in news that some people have been arrested and police is looking into it. Don't worry. It will never come out after all it is a matter if security. Things are always better when they are kept secret and some of these great leaders get to make such comments in TV.

See this news Nepalnews.com Mercantile Communications Pvt. Ltd.

But don't know the truth behind it Dr. Bhattarai does sound stupid with the comment. If it is a truth why a 'people's leader' should keep it a secret. He is not even ashamed of saying it.

Raaz, our government and police keeps everything secret. Don't forget the 'ratatat-bhatatat' of the royal palace. Didn't the then leaders also make such remarks and said there is a 'grand design' behind all this and 'samaya aye pochi bhanchu' but I guess 'ahiley samma samaye ayeko chaina'

It seems our government believes that time is the greatest healer. There were some uproars few days following the incidence and it seems that everyone except those that lost their beloved in this incidence have forgotten everything. We are back to our old business... staying in a long queue for petrol, cursing the electricity board for the loadshedding, spending hours in traffic jams, moving our bellies at the direction of Ram Dev Baba, and what not... Time has healed everything.

The only thing the government did was to publish a potrait of a man who looked like any other panwala or a khali-sisi-bottle wala and we watched the top guns in the police in the news saying we are very near the culprits, Dr. Bhatarai saying we know who is behind the scene. I dont know what the hell is stopping them from bringing the crooks in front of the public. Do they want another Nepal Bandh or what ?

I really agree with that. It totally was a rubbish note made by the government. All it wanted to prove was that the culprits were of Terai origin and what the government says is all the Terai groups are being run by the Royal Palace. So, ultimately it comes up to the palace.

Depends on what U see and what U believe.

Portrait - remember the portrait of Prachanda when he was underground and compare that with present Prachanda. How similar - how different.

Of Terai Origin - could be or may be it shows it was 'men'. How U will discriminate it.

Royal Palace - could be. These terai groups are break away fractions of maoists so there are people from palace in maoist too. And, Raaz told U earlier if everyone agrees that 'it was paras who himself came out, planted the bomb; and because of the explosion got the heart attack' there will be no further discussion. About the person looking like a khali-shishi, may be he wore a mask. U can make any hypothesis, get some help from Hindi movies and prove them. Another rat-a-tat-bhat-a-tat.

Four blast-accused presented before media
Police officials presented the four persons, who have been taken into custody in connection with the serial blasts in Kathmandu on Sept 02, before the media on Sunday.
Four persons accused of the triple blasts that killed three persons in Kathmandu on Sept 02. Police presented them before the media in a press conference held at the Police Headquarters Sunday, Sep 30 07. nepalnews.com/ANA
In a press briefing organised at the police headquarters, investigation officials said the four accused namely Jagat Narayan Thakur alias Jaya Narayan of Rautahat district, Upendra Shah, Ram Lakhan Shah and Sanjib Sharma of Bara district were arrested from Kathmandu ten days earlier. Among them, Upendra is a police official.
Officials said the accused, who are linked to a little known armed outfit called Terai Army, have admitted their involvement in the triple blasts that killed three persons and injured over two dozen others. The arrested persons are basically criminals even as the outfit claims to be a political one, they said.
Police said the bombers had come to Kathmandu from Rautahat to carry out blasts in a number of sensitive areas. Initially, they had plans to detonate bombs right inside the Singh Durbar, Supreme Court, Balaju Bus Park and Nepal Bangladesh Bank, but could not succeed due to the heavy security presence in these places.
According to Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Keshab Baral, who leads the three-member investigation team, nine other blast suspects are still at large.
The blasts were allegedly masterminded by Kausal Sahani alias Mr. John who identifies himself as a senior leader of Terai Army.
Hours after the blasts, Mr. John had given telephone interviews to some media stations in Kathmandu claiming responsibility for the bomb attack. nepalnews.com mk Sep 30 07
