Police suspect political causes behind Sunday's blasts
Police, on Thursday, have said that they believe political causes were behind the triple blasts in the city on Sunday.
Addressing a press meet in the afternoon to provide information regarding their investigations, the police said that the blasts were not carried out by simple criminal gangs.
The police assertions have come in the wake of conclusion by the government that the blasts were carried out by those who did not want the Constituent Assembly (CA) election.
At the press meet, Additional Inspector General of Police Keshab Baral informed that Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) were used in the explosions. He said gelatin, electronic detonator and 1.5 mm metallic containers were used in the bombs.
He said that further investigations were underway. The police also released a sketch of one suspected person behind the Balaju blast. A high level task force led by AIG Baral has been formed to investigate the blasts. "Till now, we have not been able to identify the culprits as we need to get our hands on facts to reach any conclusion," AIG Baral said.

Himalayan News Service
Kathmandu, September 6:
The police today came up with a “preliminary information” on the serial blasts that rocked the Valley on Sunday and a sketch of a suspect.
Addressing a press meet, Additional Inspector General of Police Keshav Prasad Baral said police have not yet arrested anyone involved in the bombings.
The police said that highly explosive commercial dynamite and electric detonator were used in the Improvised Explosive Devices (IED).
According to the police, the explosives, each weighing 1.5 kg, were packed in metallic containers.
Police also issued a sketch of a suspect in the Balaju blast, prepared on the basis of information provided by the injured.
The report, however, had factual errors. The age of two students — Sandhya Khadka, who died in a hospital, and Subi Shah, who was injured, have been mentioned as 25 and 30 respectively. The two are, however, 18 years of age. | | Senior Member | | Posts: 1,380 Thanks: 106

Thanks everyone who have posted all the news.
In this country, everyone is busy pointing finger at someone else and it seems this is a period where all can satisfy their political avenges. How dirtier can the Nepali politics get than this. 3 innocent people lost their lives including 2 schoolchildren and the leaders want to make this a 'masala' to cling onto their dear 'kurchis.' What a shame !! The government and the security forces cannot come to a conclusion and they are busy making hypothesises. What they did in these days after the bombings was produce a sketch, is this fair ? Look at the sketch, it looks like any other panwala or a khali-sisi-bottlewala. I am sure I can also draw a similar portrait if I am only given a clue that a terai person was involved in the incident. What we need is something concrete, what we need to know is who was really behind this cowardly act and who were the people involved, some names, real names !!
Nepali people came onto the streets after the Iraq incidence. Although we should condemn the violence in the capital after the incidence, the Nepali people proved that if the public really gets hot, neither the government nor the security forces can stop them. If a political activist had been killed, I am sure the respective party would have call up a bandh for a day or two and we would see tens of tyres burning in the streets. But since commoners lost their lives, it seems no one except those people who want to make new scoops are interested. How more tolerant can the public get ?
Most of us see the indian idol weekly and we all favour Prashant. Why is this ? Merely because he is of Nepali origin and he speaks Nepali language. We even do not bother he is not actually a Nepali citizen. If we can show unity like this, then why are we fighting a war where we want to divide this country into several soverign states ? Why are we killing each other when actually all of us are actual Nepalis by birth and language?

Whenever I see picture of those victims in the News paper, its hurts me badly. I couldn't dare to go throuth the contents describing how their family and relative are going through.
I can't imagine how painful it would have been if one us would have involved and.... Gaining some cheap popularity at cost of someone's life, I think it is the most cruellest thing one could do in this earth.
I am not pointing some organization or political party but Nepali people have to learn that how can they support those kind of political party (as far as preliminary investigations and rumors pointing out) if they are gaining things at the cost of a innocent human lives.
Those who support those kind of organization, people and political party are responsible for this activity and if they or anyone of you have little bit sanity left, please don't supoort such people if they get exposed by the investigation team.

I think we have greter tendency to enjoy false pride. If your son is not capable of holding a GM post as long as you can you can appoint him. No matter what rules, regulation even the law says. My view 1. Amit 2. Emoy and then comes 3. Prashant | Dear Necrosis, what you have written is true but I would like to say a few things. What I think is Nepali people are NOT enjoying this drama. WE ARE SICK AND TIRED OF EVERYTHING. What really is true is that we nepali people are very tolerant, so tolerant that we tend to forgive and forget anything to everything. Gandhigiri says if someone slaps on one of your cheeks turn the other, but what I feel is that we Nepali are so tolerant that if someone slaps us on one of our cheeks, we ourselves will slap on the other to save him from pain on his hand !!
Then talking about Indian Idol, what I had written was just to give an example, I have not commented whose voice is better. I had just commented on how united we Nepali have become on this issue. Just look at the scenario, we in Nepal are killing each other saying Pahadiyas and Teraibasi but after all we all are Nepali and when it comes to favouring we are favouring Prashant because he is of a Nepali origin when actually he is an Indian Citizen.
If we look at the Indian Idol stage, we find there are two Nepali there, first Prashant and second Udit Narayan. Prashant is an Indian by citizenship, but he is of Nepali origin and eventhough he is an Indian he proudly says I am a Nepaliko choro. On the otherhand, Udit Narayan is a Nepali by citizenship, but of Indian origin and feels proud to say I am an Indian. Whom should we call Nepali and whom should we call Indian here? I feel .....जसो गर, जे भन, जतासुकै लैजाउ मलाई यो मन त मेरो नेपाली हो .... by 1974 AD stands true. Here I would say Prashant is a Nepali and Udit Narayan is an Indian. Since this boy has proudly claimed himself to be a Nepali, I don't feel we should not support him blindly. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
