Politics alone was/is never a filthy game.If there's something we call dirt in it, then it's undoubtedly with the 'players of the game' ! as an instance : Football is never a dirty game. It never was ! It is the players who are dirty . That is: Players out of rule and discipline. We never had/have clean politicians. In fact, they are guilty for generating false impression and understanding about politics in us !

Quote:
What can we do?
Nothing. We can't change anything overnight and things that should have not happened; it's already too late to think about it.
Yes ! we are not at decisive level and present decision makers are exactly a ' bunch of idiots' ! Those voracious have taken number of days and nights to paralyze every systems of Nepal! That's why we can never expect a change overnight ! There is not going to be a magic or any miraculous development ! I can't imagine how much we're going to suffer in coming days !

I would like to quote Dr. Bhagwan Koirala. He, in an interview, said ' Almost Everything in Nepal is out of oder ! We just go on complaining. But I think one should always try to be best at his sector. Everyone trying to be best at their own sectors would create a constructive and successful nepal'.

Well said ! but we just can't/shouldn't shut our eyes at the wrong doings and disorders ! we must keep on speaking our mind !

What else we can do than keeping patience ? Somebody has rightly said,' Patience is in fact waiting .It is not waiting something passively. It is AN ACTIVE WAITING.'

And, We can at least keep ourselves out from the 'USMLE WHIM' !

And if you think politicians who are in the government right now are bunch of idiots and are responsible for all this, then come forward and make the government yourself. Have U ever even thought of doing that? There is plenty of space for you. If you cannot, then why do U have the rights to blame those who are there?
Dear Walrus,
I strongly disagree with you in this context. I think we Nepali people have experimented enough with all types of systems starting from the Panchayat to the 'Prajatantra-wala' democracy to King's rule to the present 'loktantra-wala' democracy. We have even seen the 10 year long 'Janayuddha' of the maoists.

If we go back in the timelane to last year's 19 day long people's movement, do you remember that in the first few days, there were just handful of people in the streets because the public had already seen these idiots in power. It turned into huge mass only after these idiots publicly said that they had repented their previous MISdeeds and then only people forgave them and came to the streets hoping for better. This is how the present government came into existence. The maoists had fought enough, 13000+ lives were lost and many were left homeless. When they wanted to come into the mainstream, the Nepali people, wishing for a peaceful society, welcomed them totally forgiving them and expecting some changes from them. But as we all know, it has turned to be the same whiskey in a new bottle. Anything happens here, there is always an excuse that this is a transition phase and there is only one place to point the fingers, the Narayanhiti palace. I am sure if free and fair elections are held, these jerks will totally be eradicated. After all, we are sick and tired of these people. Just look at the news these days, all posts in the government are being shared by 8-party. Aren't posts like Sachib, Chancellor of University something that should be filled by capable people or are they something that should be equally distributed among the vultures ? And going back to the free and fair elections, wasn't the elections supposed to be held in Jestha ? These vultures just wanted to stick their buttocks onto the seats and that's how the elections have been postponed to Mangsir 6th and that too with a question mark taller than the Dharahara. If they had the guts to fight the elections in a free and fair election, I am sure new faces will come into the nation-building task.

Coming to your statement the government did not plant the bomb there. Walrus, this is a very childish statement. The government should be held fully responsible for the bombings. Aren't all the security forces under their control ? What the hell is the intelligence of the security forces doing ? I am sure 3 bombs going off at the same time was not a mere coincidence but a planned terrorist activity. The government had no clue about such act. This is a shame and moreover, it occurred in the heart of the capital. If this is the condition of security in the capital, one can only leave the security task of rest of the nation upon Lord Pashupatinath. If you observe, at this period in the history of the country, the most demoralised people in the country are the security forces. After the bombings, did any responsible official visit the sites and the hopsitals ? Few of these vultures showed their corrupt faces only after 24 hours. Isn't that true ? It's already 100+ hours and the government says they are still probing onto the matter. Is that what a responsible government ought to say ?

So Walrus, sorry to say, but you should rethink upon the matter. Are we not sick and tired of our government ?

Thanx Luaa and Hydatidcyst for discussing on this.

But, is the aggression ok right now? Bombs and deaths are not new. Will people in KTM always wake up late from their slumber?

U r in Surkhet Hydatidcyst, you should be questioning this. U have seen years of this fear.

Well, the government, they were supposed to publicise the report yesterday. Did they do that? I have not heard. Or are the 8 parties discussinng whom to blame.

About free and fair election, do not expect much even when there will be free and fair election. Candidates will be the same. No change. Only change will be who is more and who is less. Ones with the guns will still have the upper hand. That is revolution.

Schools and educational institute should be declared Peace Zone; though many students themselves have devoted themselves more to politics than education.

Educational and Health institute should be declared Peace Zone.

As doctors are already on strike, why don't we add one more point to the demand - educational institute as a peace zone.

True Walrus, high time health and educational institutes should be declared peace zones. But what about the highways ? Not many years ago, the whole country was declared as a peace zone and we already had 100+ countries supporting that. Isn't it a shame when now we have to name a few places as peace zone ?

We have evidence to prove palace's involvement in Sunday's blasts: Dr Bhattarai

Kantipur Report

BUTWAL, Sept 6 - Maoist leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai has claimed that his party has found "evidence" to show that the royal palace was behind Sunday's serial bomb blasts in the capital."The palace is planning a coup by holding the Maoists responsible for the chaos it is unleashing," Dr Bhattarai said at a function here on Thursday, "We have already collected evidence, which we will make public within the next few days."
The Maoist second-in-command further claimed that the royalists had carried out the explosions to thwart the establishment of a republic and to take the army out of the barracks to stage a coup.
He also alleged that the Nepal Army was accusing the Maoists of carrying out the explosions.
"As the army still favours the royal palace, it has made the allegation only to cover up the palace's conspiracy," he said. "The allegation is completely false."
He also urged all political parties to become serious about the 22 prerequisites cited by the Maoists to stop conspiracies hatched by the royalists and to overthrow the institution of monarchy.
"The Maoists will be compelled to take to the streets if the parliamentary parties do not agree to declare a republic through the interim parliament," he said, adding that their agitation could also be directed against the parliamentary parties "if they do not give up the tendency to retain the monarchy in one form or the other."
The royal palace has already refuted reports in some newspapers that linked Crown Prince Paras to the serial blasts.
Issuing a statement on Wednesday, the royal palace press secretariat said the news reports were false and published with the ill intention to defame the palace and the crown prince.
Similarly, the Nepal Army, too, has condemned the media reports, which tried to "link the army to Sunday’s blasts".
Terming the news reports a "well-planned and false propaganda" carried out by some media organizations, the NA has appealed to the people to be alert against "this kind of conspiracy, and against the elements, who want to impose their atrocious and extremist ideology."

UML believes criminal elements were behind Sunday blasts
The CPN (UML) has said the triple blasts that rocked the capital city Sunday afternoon were the doings of criminal elements trying to disrupt the constituent assembly elections.
The UML has come to the conclusion that such heinous acts could only be attributed to criminal elements, party leaders told reporters after a meeting of the Standing Committee Tuesday afternoon. They said the UML has strongly demanded that the government track down the criminals behind the blasts and punish them.
The UML meet discussed at length the impact of Sunday’s blasts, and the current situation, on the upcoming polls and stressed the need for cooperation among all the political forces to conduct the polls on time.
The party also formed a 9-member committee led by senior leader Amrit Bohara to prepare a preliminary list of party’s election candidates. nepalnews.com mk Sep 04 07

Army refutes allegations of involvement in 9/2 blasts
Nepal Army has refuted the reports linking it to the triple blasts on Sunday that killed at least three people and injured over two dozen others.
In a statement on Thursday, NA said the news reports were baseless and maintained that such reports only supported the anti-national elements.
The NA said the reports were aimed at tarnishing the relation between the people and the NA that remains intact for centuries. The statement said the NA was committed to serving the nation strictly under the direction of the government.
The NA further said the reports were intended to pushing the country towards instability. nepalnews.com ia Sep 06 07
