HIV status in Nepal till 2005: Total Adult=70000, Adult Prevalence (15-49)=0.55%, Number of Women (15-49) LWHA=15,310 (22%), HIV Prevalence rate in IDUs=32.7%, HIV prevalence rate in sex worker=3.8%, HIV prevalence rate in client of SW=2.1%. The latest U.N. report shows that 65 million people have been infected with HIV since it was first identified 25 years ago. Twenty five million people have died of AIDS.

Should We Globalize Labor Too?

I got an email from a friend with link from NY Times that talks about need of Nepal at the present. I am unable to make any opinion on that but as the medical community of Nepal is also migrating, please share what you have to say on this.

Should our govt request the developed countries to allow what is described as 'temporary guest workers'.

Nepalese have been going to India and middle-eastern countries to work for many years and they do that for many years. Our country gets good revenue from them but that drains working-age people from our villages. So, this article suggests that people from third world should be allowed to work for just couple of years in developed countries and return back after earning enough.
