Dear equation,

Yes there is Psychiatric Association of Nepal and Coutnry has shortage of more consultant in this subspecialty.

Psychiatrists Association of Nepal
PO Box 1997
Kathmandu, Nepal
Fax: 977-1-427-684
Email: sregmi@npl.healthnet.org

Although Psychiatric department is present in all the Medical Colleges, Zonal and Tertiary Care Hospitals. There is one hospital, Mental Hospital, Lagankhel, Lalitpur, Nepal Tel: +977-1-521333.

There is a huge lack of Pshychiatric man power hardly they are more than 50 in no. which do not meet the need of the country.

There is a good news for all those who are interested in Psyhiatry that Psychiatrists Association of Nepal is organizing 2nd international conference of SAARC Pshychiatric Federation in Nov. 17-19 in Nepal, with the theme " Social Conflicts and Mental Health: – Challenges to Psychatrists".
