New cases in Pous 2064, HIV = 175, AIDS = 26, Death = 2. HIV rate is very high in Housewives than sex workers in Nepal ! ! ! HIV status in Nepal till 2005: Total Adult=70000, Adult Prevalence (15-49)=0.55%, Number of Women (15-49) LWHA=15,310 (22%), HIV Prevalence rate in IDUs=32.7%, HIV prevalence rate in sex worker=3.8%, HIV prevalence rate in client of SW=2.1%. The latest U.N. report shows that 65 million people have been infected with HIV since it was first identified 25 years ago. Twenty five million people have died of AIDS.

NAMS being one of the eldest pride of नेपाल in providing medical treatments to the poor&betrayed nepales in general, has been generously letting the young medical enthusiasts to do their internships, PG practices and also so called pre-internship there..
i finished my -ent- & -ortho- postings there as a naive intern & currently in my second wk posting in -er-; when i first stepped at -NAMS- one month ago, i was scared with its very unhygienic hosptl premises, garbage piled up in&around hosptl surroundings; mostly poor&dirty patients coming there; i hesitated if i could ever work there with concentration before -NMC- allows me to take the NMLE..
nonetheles, with time i am used to with the hygienes there; to tell honestly hosptl management is at its worst..
or else everything's very good; everyday hosptl gets flooded with thousand of patients with multiple cases for the students to practice&learn & of course to build up the confidence in managing variety of ailments..
