Zee TV Report: New Delhi, Aug 21: After the crowd turnout at Mumbai's Mahim locality to ataste ‘sweet’ water of the Arabian Sea, thousands of people on Sunday night thronged temples across Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana and Punjab to watch deities of Goddess Durga, God Shiva and Ganesha claimed to be drinking milk offered to them by devotees.
The first such incident was reported from a Durga temple in Bareilly. After the news spread, thousands gathered at the temple carrying buckets of milk along with bowls and spoons, to appease the God.
The last time such an incident was reported was in 1995, involving Ganesha idols.
A large number of people queued up outside temples in Mathura and nearby holy cities of Vrindavan and Govardhan in UP, Vadodara in Gujarat and Kurukshetra in Haryana and Ludhiana in Punjab following claims that the deities are taking milk offered to them.
"A cup of milk was offered to Durga Ji in Rama Nand Ashram Goverdhan on Sunday evening and she was not only pleased but has drank all. It is a good omen and the future of the country is bright", noted saint Mahamandaleshwar Krishna Das Kanchan Maharaj said in Mathura. | | The Following User Says Thank You to Alpine For This Useful Post: | | | Senior Member | | Posts: 234 Thanks: 0

I remeber that day very well. I was in school then, one of my frens asked me "oh did you try giving milk to ganeshji" and I said huh!? That evening at home I tried it by myself--it was really amazing! the milk disappeared!! Later on I heard some 'scientists' reported that its due to capillary action--osmosis-- something like this. Yes capillary action was the most fav theory. But, think about it--all murtis are not made of the same material - some are made of metals and plastics also and you are definitely not going to see capillary action with metals and plastics. So what could be the reason behind this 'miracle'? | | The Following User Says Thank You to Hero For This Useful Post: | | | Co-Admin | | Posts: 893 Thanks: 1

With full respect to our religion, I suggest you guys not to spend even a drop trying to feed gods. Gods have enough to eat. I will never understand it, there are thousands of young children, who already at age of 6, carry burden of goods to survive. Many die of hunger. We have become so rude, we never run with a glass of milk, if somebody would say that there was a hungry boy. And when it happens with god, thousands of people are ready to bring buckets of milk and they would also wait for hours in line.
I think, in this case, we hindus failed to understand our religion. Message of Gods are misinterpreted. This is what we understand by "Chaplusi". We need some changes in our habits.
