hi,
I thought there are pictures of all medical colleges of Nepal in our picture gallery here in Xenomed.I had some sort of a discussion with other fellow nepalese who think nepal can never develop, nothing good can ever happen in Nepal.
I said, just look at the pictures of infrastructure of Nepali medical colleges. If they can do it,why cant anyone else....bla...bla...Then to my horror there were only pictures of few medical colleges. The most shocking was there were no pics of NMC,KMC..which has largest number of participation in our forum.
So,guys just take out your cameras from your shelf and get around clicking.Lets have a PHOTO SERIES on the medical colleges of Nepal. There are users from every medical college in Nepal so please take pictures of the building and whatever u think is good there and upload it.Lets make a series of photos about it.
The development of medical education is one of the success stories of Nepal. And we ought to be proud of it. | | Senior Member | | Posts: 232 Thanks: 0

That would be great. To my surprise I also did not find any Photo of KMC building while I was searching it to use in a banner ( http://rajiv.ra.funpic.de/kn/xenad.swf) for ad of xenoMED. Even not available in its site and google did not help either. Quote: |

| sorry for those pessimists!! Our country was always under controll of various selfish powers from Ranas to shahs and some craps without vision. But she also had visionary man like BPK, unfortunately he was also victim of monarchy, he could not unfold his ability to the extend he could.
I will remain, like always, optimist about development in our country. Of course it is developing one just needs to think a little bit more.

Ya,very true MH.Its not that we dont have brilliant/patriotic/efficient people. But they have always been sidelined by the greedy lot.You can site many many examples. In the congress, see what happened to Daman Nath Dhungana,Pradeep Giri, they are good visinory people but they were kept outside the ruling circle by the people around our PM.Even think of Gagan Thapa, the corrupt politicians(that involves almost everyone actually) could not prevent him from winning in the student elections so they cancelled the whole process,he fought hard to bring this change against the King and now where is he? This is the right time to bring him to the forefront and let him lead the youth and make them feel positive about their country and its future .
Among the communists,Narahari Acharya....a brilliant scholar, see how he is in the sidelines.
After coming here and seeing Indians doing so well and even Nepalese doing reasonably well, I have a belief that we(south asians) indeed have a sharp mind.If you look at any school the best students are the NRIs.But the part that is lacking is the ability of our government to involve such people in the course of the National Development and in many cases alianating these people for petty gains.
For us to develop these people should be recognised, respected and given oppertunity to do their bit in the development process.I hope once all the mess with maoists is sorted out and hopefully Mr.GK retires from the politics and with him and his allies, the practice of shadowy politics vanishes from our land.
We are a land of immense oppertunity.Hydroelectricity is the WHITE GOLD now,Even New Delhi has 5 hours of loadshedding a day, imagine the power crisis in India and even if they have all the 12 nuclear plants to be passed on from US it will only cover 25% by 2025 of their needs so we have ample room to fill here.Bhutan now has 600$ of percapita income, that is more than that of India and that is solely due to Hydroelectricity. We can do it too.We have other potential areas,Tourism specially adventure tourism.I really forsee our country as the HOME OF ADVENTURE TOURSIM in the world.Where in the world will you find almost all of the big mountains, the world's best trekking routes, greatest wildlife safaris outside Africa, deep gorges and great bumjee jumping sites, one of the world's best rivers for rafting (sp.white water rafting),great lakes...sp.for triathalon competition, great site for paragliding....The list is long....and new vistas are opening up and will continue to do so,like cultural/religious tourism, eco tourism.
IT,floriculture, other industries are already coming up and for the future our big income source could be Medical Tourism.200,000 Americans are going to Thailand every year, that number is half the size of our annual tourist arrival. If we could only bring half that number,sp.because every one of them of course will spend a lot of money,we would be looking at a big prospect.I think its not just a dream but a realistic possibility because every year we have around 100 docs joining American Medical Schools as residents and most of them want to return back to Nepal, they can bring back the knowledge, experience, money and the appropriate connections for this thing to materialize.
I think our Leaders have done extraordianarily well to block a nation with such immense possiblities from developing. It really required exemplary mishandling. Now as our nation goes through a sweeping change our hope and prayers rest on our dream of a new vibrant Nepal, switzerland of the east. And i truely believe in just a matter of years that we will start seeing massive growth. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
