One more Nepali At Heart Bids Adieu - 01-07-2006, 09:13 AM

I guess most of the xenomed users are familiar with the name Riyotaro Hashimoto. He was one of the most flamboyant politicians in Japan and a former Prime Minister known for his sleek looks and designer suits. There is more about him than just a japanese prime minister. He used to say Nepal is his second home and used to visit Nepal quite often. When Bijay kumar went to interview him,he was surprised when Riyotaro told him he is thinking of how to bring the apples from mustang to sell in pokhara. He knew Nepal inside out and had always been a friend and a well wisher. He helped many developmental projects in Nepal take shape and donated his own money in building the new building/ buying an ambulance in Kanti hospital.
But sadly he has left us all.He was in a serious condition since few days after undergoing GI surgery. At 68 years he was young by Japanese standard.
I am more saddened by the fact that our newspapers(online) havent given any importance to his death. At least for being such an avid Nepal lover, his life and his death deserves a mention!!

its definitely a sad thing to know about the demise of this great man.. but its even more heart-breaking and shameful thing to learn that hardly anyone of our country is aware of this news and hardlly anyone has spoken condolence words on his demise.. we have almst forgotten this man.. thats the nature of we nepalese.. we praise a man more than anything when he does something for us and we even do not remain back to create a monument or name the institution after that mans name but soon we forget that man... thats a shameful thing and i just wonder when will such act of us stop..

anyway though i came to know of this great man late.. i express my heartfelt condolence on his demise and pray to the almighty to give enough strength to the bereaved family to bear this loss....
