the problem doesnt lies on any tantras(raj/lok/gana) but lies in
  1. the attitude of people
  2. our geopolitical reality

Well i personally think that the 1990 constitution is a balanced one accomodating king as well as the democracy. But we were too eager for the early reforms the so called "democracy" would deliver but we only saw political unstability, corruption and all those dirty deeds of the netaz. But i belive our democracy was, as Sarwochha neta Ganesh Man sing stated, a sishu( infant) democracy. Before being frustrated with the political system we should have give the country some time ( may be 10-20 years) for the democratic system to me matured. The maoist we know have turned to the guns when they won only 4 seats in the parliament in the madhyawadi election and saw no democratic way to go to the power. And chose to start the violent way. We nepali people want early changes and we have this known "khutta tanne bani" which is a major hindrance to the development of the country.
I think that what ever thantra comes, we are not developing and as long as we are addressing the issues as poverty, unemployment etc then i am sure there are many more groups due to enter the junglee even under the highly speculated ganatantra.

Then comes how to address the issue? Will the arrival of ganatantra do the magic? No way. It will be much more difficult. Nepal is a small economy surrounded on all "possible" sides by India one of the fasted growing economy. Its unlikely that the communist rule have good impression of the Neighbours and the donors and if no foreign money then nepal cant even built a bridge as we all know. Moreover we know our terrain is difficult on all aspects except for sight seeing. So how is there a possibility of development under the ganatantra when there is meagre foreign aid and the reality of our geography. And as long as there is unemployment, poverty then can any one deny the possibility of more groups entering the jungle with a "different" political agenda and start another series of blood shed?

Its realy confusing for me ...
1. If we needed the multi party democracy then the king is ready for it then why the protest is going on ???
2. If the politicians will agree for the multi party democracy then the maoist problem of our country will remail as it was before ..so what will be the change ??
3. If the king is gone then who will run the country???? Maoist......I cant even think for that...
4. If Republic of Nepal , then who will be the president and how he will be selected and will he be changes every year or every month like our priministed used to be ...It wont solve the problem it will ce=reate mopre problem I guess ..
5. Or the Army chief should rule the king like in Pakistan...But it wont make any change to the situation either ...

So what you guys think.....Who shud rule our country so that the situation will improve....
Fo me ..I am very much confused ????????
I don't think I can answer your queries with my very limited knowledge of Nepalese politics. What if i feel is Nepal should have it's King, I don't think bring in a presidential system would benefit Nepal really. Changing a president every 4 years wouldn't go down too well for Nepal, esp since there's a Nepal bandh for parctically everything, we don't need another excuse to add to all the ones we already have. Or if a presidency was to be introduced in Nepal, it would have to be a system like India where the president actually has no power. But then, atleast we get to choose who the powerless ruler is going to be! Can you ever imagine Paras being King...that seems like such a surreal thing, an uneducated killer ruling our country!!

What i still don't understand it why the maoists ruler didn't just do the right thing by becoming a politician and standing up to be a prime minister the normal way but instead created this bloodshed situation in Nepal. It's like a full circle really, the parliament will still consist of the maoist leaders, which completely makes all those years wasted in a way for them, if they just did that from the beginning.

I don't think communism should come into the country. China itself isn't a proper proper communist country anymore...it has changed drastically and hence such development. But the people of nepal are still carrying the sickle and hammer flag...

from what i know and understood is that
1) they protested cause like the same old house of representative revive gareko thiyeena. that why they protested on the first KIng's say. yesterday KIng revived the old house of representative so they r not protesting now
2) dont think problem wont end there about maoist. but they r ready to talk after the representative have revived . They want to change the Sambhidan. Accordin to news they r ready for like UK ko type constituion also.
3)KIng wont go its still not decided. well aba he can stay as a ceremonial king like in UK type.i think maoist should be brought to politics otherwise the problem wont resolve.
4)president.. hmm now aba represntative ( revived bata) will b elected one then they will form that sambidhan then again they will have election for new president. dont know for how long they will hold the post. news rules and regulation may b will b formed
5)It wont be like Pakistan

i dont if i am correct but that what i know .. i hope i made it clear to u

Thanks paranoid for the information ...but I have seen the news in BBC, CNN and read the news in various websites that the maiosts do not agree with the condition and they r blaming the parties have betrayed them ....

Maoists demand unconditional constituent assembly elections

Kantipur Report

KATHMANDU, April 25 - Expressing disagreement over Monday’s Royal Proclamation reinstating the dissolved House of Representatives, the Maoists rebels have “completely dismissed” it and demanded unconditional constituent assembly elections. The rebels have also announced different protest programmes “until an announcement of unconditional constituent assembly election was made.” Issuing a statement on Tuesday afternoon, Maoist chairman Prachanda a.k.a. Pushpa Kamal Dahal and No. 2 Maoist leader Dr. Baburam Bhattarai have accused the seven parties of committing a “historic mistake” of welcoming the royal proclamation reinstating the dissolved parliament. “We want to make it clear that the parties which have welcomed and supported the so-called royal proclamation have broken the 12-point understanding and betrayed the feeling of the Nepali people,” the Maoist statement said. The Maoists have also announced a protest programme that includes nationwide demonstrations and showdowns, people’s action against those involved in suppression of their programmes, and blockade of the district headquarters and the capital until the announcement of unconditional elections to the constituent assembly.
Dont know whats going to be next ...

hey guys i will tyr to add some more
the politics of nepal is really difficult to understand
talking to the current situation, the roadmap of spa is with the restoration of parliament they will make govnment to talk 2 maoist which then forms a new govnment along with maoist 2 go 4 sambidhan sabha.....after safe guarding their weapons under supervision of UN or any other party.......

so since till date there is no sambidhan sanha election announcement, it is strasight that maoist will not agree the kings second address......that's why they hace put nakabandi in the sadarmukam........ i think it is 2 give parties to go 4 sambibhan sabha election which is reasonable also. That's why the solution is sambidhan sabha, not only the restoration of house

since the king has deceived the people n parties many time, no one can believe him, though perties have also deceived 2 people we can change them in election but 4 king......its do or die.......its now or never......
its not the maoist who will form president, its the people who will form it either directly or thro' the people elecdted by people

since the king has deceived people many times, why we should take him on the head? i donot see any good reason 4 that..... why should pay tax 2 buy him luxarious car, gaida bechna and bidesh ghumna......
we i am strong in favour of republic nepal and suggest u all also 2 be in the line.....whoever u support do not do blindly, my request

so nepal is back to the way it was....being run by the same old people.

So what happened to the petition that we eagerly signed...what happened to those doctors who got jailed??

It would be interesting to know the biography of all the doctors who were imprisoned and why they were put in jail and their involvement in that andolan. I've been told they've had clashes with the government from the early 80's.
